Im all for immersion, love the walking dead series... I can go along with mutation in some zombies causing them to be faster but with explanation for it. You just cant have fast zombies with no kind of explanation for it... it does not compute LOL! Nor does it say its a mutation but they just want you to go along with it is just ridiculous. Im hoping that they introduce mutation into the walking dead series but they have not as of yet.
How about an explanation for the fact, these walking zombies overthrew humanity, don't use the "They didn't know what zombies were" excuse. The worlds military are quite powerful, they'd easily destroy shamblers, sprinters maybe.
Wheres the explanation for these zombies even existing? They don't make any sense. The game doesn't offer any definitive proof of how these zombies came to be, the most we know is that dogs are probably transmitting the disease to us.
I know i saw the option but just commented on what made sense to me.
Really why try and make me sound crazy... I know this is fiction and fantasy It not called immersion for nothing dummy! Secondly it just a fun topic of debate don't take it beyond that.
They're monsters.
ps would still love to know what nanobots have to do with it lol
Both are equally implausible, but some of us just don't like running zombies as they make even less sense due to being rotting flesh, at best fresh dead would be able to run, but anything after a few days is going to have some form of rigor mortis and simply be unable to run. The only plausible lore option is that nobody understands what they are at first. Also in most cases it's an instance of "if you die you come back" and since people are dying every day, add to that people being killed by their dead loved ones and even military being overwhelmed by the sheer numbers depending on how fast they have it spread.
I guess my point is that being overwhelmed by sheer numbers of shamblers is still just as plausible as anyone actually surviving runners.
It surely makes more sense than dead and rotting corpses being able to sprint like Usain Bolt but without being tired. (and anyone actually surviving in that kind of scenario)
I will say that they don't know what zombies are, why ? Because it's legit.
No? Than I have a quiz question for you - you see a thing walking towards you, it looks like it's dead and covered in blood. It also has blisters, medium sized green blisters and you have a gun and a knife - how you wanna kill it and where to aim to kill it ?
Answer me this question above.
Also who gives a crud if you have powerful military - ever heard about human wave during WWII ? Add to that the fact that you need to hit specific spot to kill enemy... There you go.
They exist because there was no more room in hell. (seriously who cares ? it's called "project zomboid" and not "how the moon get there?")
I'm pretty sure the military at the time would've been way more advanced than they were nearly 50 years ago and would know that the zombies die from headshots, since they're the ones who established the quarantine and probably did a bit of research about the zombies. Even though head shots are hard to get, there are ♥♥♥♥ tons of U.S soldiers and firearm owners in the U.S.
Also regarding the point about who cares that they exist, then who cares that runner zombies a thing, they're fictional monsters just like shamblers. Plus the fact shamblers make literally zero sense just like sprinters. So who cares, it's just a zombie type that was added to add something new to a genre. Runners are over used now but so are shamblers.
