No. You can easily over-inflate a tire. Just like in real life.

Does the tire pressure really affect something? Or it's just a "feature" that's there to be fixed?

I found this:

"- Added an option to inflate or deflate a tire. Beware of inflating a tire too much.
- Inflated tire will reduce wheel friction and brake force."

I don't remember a deflate option, but guess I never used it.

I did it, it is the same option menu where you can inflate the tire.
