Why do we need antibiotics?
What for?

They are pretty much useless as wound infection (not zombie infection) is easy to treat and harmless.

To reduce infection levels.
Infection as in pus or bacteria like what you'd use penecillin in real life for. Basically infections that are visible on an unbandaged wound in the health window.
Disinfectant, alcohol wipes, and sterilized rags/bandages can also help.

  • Have low first aid and perform some type of suture/stitching
  • Remove a piece of broken glass, stitch it up
  • Remove a bullet, stitch it up
  • Get a nasty fracture, like your fibula bone sticking out of your leg. Don't forget to splint it!
  • Have a wound while wearing dirty and bloody clothes
  • Not changing your dirty bandages frequently

You do not need antibiotics if you were bit or scratched by a zombie and are showing signs of zombification (Moodles Sick:queasy, nauseous, sick, fever and Stress:anxious, agitated, stressedh, nervous wreck). Unless of course you don't want any pus or anything in your wound.

I took them when I had a fever and was constanly losing health. As soon as I took them they brought my fewer down to the "sick" moodle. They might have saved my life in that situation.

Can somebody verify this as well?

This is the kind of detail I love about this game.

So, if my little health silhouette is completely clear, no injuries, nothing bandaged, what could be causing queasyness, incresing panic, and the broken bone "need first aid" image, when there is no option to apply any first aid?

Carrying too much will make your health decrease.

Eating bad food, running a generator indoors, carrying too much, have a mod that adds armor or protective clothing, recently scratched or bitten and it healed, certain traits, being too close to a bunch of dead zombies, and many other reasons.
