The hunger/time ratio does not make sense, can somebody explain?
So people praise the realistic aspect of PZ, but here I played with my friend yesterday and survived for 1 day and 21~ hours but we had to eat food that would have been enough for a week or even more.

Can someone explain how does this make sense?

The second question is, can we adjust or tweak this so at least we can play in our prefered way?

The balance between realism and fun is a tricky operation. No matter how realistic a game is, there will always be examples such as these.

In the Sandbox options under Character and "Stats Decrease" you can adjust hunger degradation. "Stats Decrease" includes hunger, thirst and fatigue though so I'm not sure if this is a viable option for you.

Someone here might have info about modifying the files to be able to tweak hunger stats only.

You can turn off the 'nutrition' option, and then you can go back to eating, and it actually fills you up, rather than looking at the calories you have eaten, versus the calories you are using to survive.
I think we can agree, that a person running around all day, lugging heavy loads, chopping trees down, building walls, tilling the soil, are going to need a lot more food than somebody sitting on the couch playing video games all day long.

Well, the thing is, we never have done any of these tasks, besides there's a limit in calories, no matter how much you work yourself there's no way to burn that much of calories.

Besides, since we are going with this "realism" route, which isn't realistic and fun, an average human can easily survive with very little food for a long periods of time as long as they are drinking water.

EDIT: I think what the 'nutrion' system needs is an 'energy meter' so the player realizes they do not have the energy they are trying to expend, if they are not getting enough calories. That would be a better indicator of the system. In real life, I would know I could not chop that tree down, when all I ate was 2 cabbages...

And you can live for a long time, with just drinking water in the game. Your going to loose weight, but you will not die. And you do not need to keep the 'well feed' moodles up. You should not be eating until you are at least hungry.

What you are missing in your statements, is what you were eating. Low calorie foods are not going to sustain you for long, if your running around, bashing zombie heads in. You also did not say what you were doing, so until you do, we can only guess. So state that, or your 'realism' argument is worthless, because the game does a pretty good job at counting calories you intake, versus calories you are actually using.

But it is also really easy to turn off the Nutrion system, and you can go back the the simpler days where food was food, not calories.

We were looting around, sneaking and killing a few zombies here and there, nothing really special, so I'll check this nutrition system and see if I can adjust it to my likings.

Part of this issue is the timescale. I personally did 1 real-time hour to 4 in-game hours and never had problems with eating; though it did make some things worse like reading books.

Time scale also affects farming and plant growth. It can really seem like a long time with a timescale change that makes days last longer. But you can sure get a lot of stuff done in a day with a longer timescale.

Calorie calc (irl): If you are a 180cm / 80 kg male, with avg physical activitie (2-3 hours sport/WEEK or a DAILY easy physical work), u have to eat 2880kcal / day to keep your weight, and to be able to do your activities.
So U
1.: Lootin: carry weight
2: Sneakin / walkin
3: Killin zeds.
Those activities burns (imo) more or at least avarage calorie amount. If u dont cook quality foods, eatin only chips, and raw vegies... U will be hungry often.
Try to cook some meat vith some veggies, that gives u more calories. (But watch for your weight, cuz its ez to gain, but hhard to loss)

And as the prev comment say: U dont have to eat when u peckish. U have to eat when u got the second noodle (Hungry).
