Picking up doors?

Is there any way to pick up doors from buildings? I have tried but the game does not seem give me the option? I can pick up windows but not doors?!

A zombie destroyed the nice doors in my house and now i had to replace them with the ugly, self built wooden ones. Yet there are hundreds of great, perfectly useable doors in the houses and buildings all over town... If you can disassemble a door, you should also be able to take it out of the frame and place it in another door opening i think. Just a question of unscrewing the hinges and placing it in the new doorframe. Even in real life that is not that difficult, and all doors have standardised sizes anyway... And we can pick up windows, so why not doors? Picking up doors should be even easier than picking up windows!

They can just apply the same rules as with furniture and windows: low levels of carpentry give higher chance of breaking the door.

Or am i missing something here?

From what I found in the game, your not missing anything.

Although the developers are missing something, being able to pick up doors.

Windows were probably added, because there is no way to currently 'build' a window. Since a door can be built, even if it is uglier than sin, they never added that function. Of course, this is all my conjecture.

Thanks for the reaction! Still haven't found a way to do it so i'm assuming its impossible or not implemented yet.

Please don't spam the dev's inboxes with suggestions, they're crowded with suggestions as it is.

It's not possible at the moment, I'd also like to see this in the game. The best way to get it added is to leave a suggestion in the suggestions, or if you have an account on the official forums, you can post it over there[theindiestone.com].

Well i was just realising that the game is still in developement. I often forget that fact since the game is already so much fun and offers so much to do already. So i guess adding doors that can be picked up might not be a priority for the devs since, as already mentioned, you can build doors. I'm ok with that. Let the devs sort the 'general' game first and then i'll nag about picking up doors... ;)
