Build 41 Speed and Zombie Grabing
Hey a few things i wantet to ask for the build 41
1 What exactly does running speed affect? Just sprinting does it have a effect on turning etc?
always stayed away from anything that hurts it up to now
2 As for clothing affecting Combat speed would that just be the Swinging speed or does this refer to movement while "Battle Ready" (M2)
3 Question the moments when a zombie starts to grab you and you shake it off are they affectet bye anything (as in stats zombie settings etc)
4 About getting dragged down is there any effect on how many it takes due to things like Strenght (your own not the zombie strenght)

1- Quite self explanatory, it affects your speed while jogging and sprinting.

2- It affects your swinging speed

3- I don't get your question, are you asking if the chance of a zed grabbing you is affected by anything?

4- Zombies dragging you down depends on their strength mainly.

for 1 yhea could have guessed as much but i wasnt that sure and didnt wanna test it in case it would also affect things like turning speed
3 Mostly the speed of the animation the distance the zed gets knocked back etc
since i was kinda wondering about that atm if 2 zeds get close to you it can end in a long as loop if the timing of them was perfect (i think i had to wait nearly 1 minute to get free from 2 before)
O and a little funfact you know the glasshards on the ground after breaking a window
yhea well dont walk trought if you just took of your shoes in order to have them dry

I always take the fitness and strength trait, both at level 9 start of game, with bonus gains.

It only takes 3 rotting zombies to pull my character down and kill him. Somehow, I don't think the player strength is even in that calculation, which if that is true, is a BIG MISS by the developers. With my beefy character, I should be able to plow through a small group of zombies.

Yhea in that case your stats dont matter for that since even my oftentimes feeble char requires 3 to drag him down (atleast i have never seen him get draged down bye less and i did have atleast 2 grab me at once however i dont know if they always drag you down once they have sufficient numbers)

You forget these arent people trying to just grab you, but bite and scratch you as well. Even if you knock them over they will still be grabbing at your legs and waist as they go down, and the more there are the more mass you are working against, also knocking even 3 over would cause at least one of them to fall in front of you, potentially getting tangled in your legs and causing you to fall. Sometimes its just not about strength but the situation, 3 zombies trying to grab you in a field may be no problem, but 3 trying to grab you in a house or hallway is a totally different story. I personally like the new system as it makes it more challenging, before i could run through a group of zombies and not get bit, heck i used to run laps in the mall to see how long i could last, but now im forced to be strategic and avoid even small groups of zeds.

while i do not dislike it i do think it would be nice if your abilities would factor in in any way
i mean if a frail guy can resist 2 zombies then somebody that is pretty much twice as strong or even more should be able to stand ageinst 3 or even 4
but well i guess fine tuning like that is going to come once the version is closer to release

I was not talking about the chances of getting bitten or scratched, I was talking about getting pulled to the ground by 3 lame zombies by my 9 strength and 9 fitness character. (10 is the max.) A body builder in this case, could easily toss off 3, or even 4+ grabbing zombies with ease. The chances of a scratch or bite is a different point no related to my complaint here.

Both times I was pulled to the ground, it was by 3 zombies, all 3 were behind me (as I was trying to turn and run with the sluggish controls) but I was still pulled down and somehow killed.
I really think my character the 'Hulk' could have pulled right out of their clutches and yanked all three of them to the ground as they lost their grip on my backpack.

And a weak character? One zombie could overwhelm them, and swinging a weapon would be beyond most of them for more than a couple swings. Yet the game seems to favor the weak.
