Little trees vs. Cars
build 41
You know those new little trees that spawn around the world by the games erosion system? Yeah they shouldn't act like sodding CONCRETE to your car. They should snap and fall over ( and NOT give you a fully grown log item when cut down, maybe a branch & twigs)
Had a car in perfect shape, made the mistake of taking a shortcut offroad, touched a few barely visible little tree saplings, got fully stopped with scratching sounds, while zombies kept approaching. My car hood and windshield(??) was wrecked after that, come on guys that cant be real. This needs to do a lot less damage

Haven't noticed it yet but if that's the case I fully agree, a sappling shouldn't act this way.

This was reported on their forums, they'll fix the unreasonable damage these small trees do, but not sure about the noise they make and how much they slow down your car. I hope they take a look at those too..

Thanks for the info, good to know they will change the damage. Generally I hate those saplings, they slow you down when you walk through them, even though they are smaller than some other bushes / shrubs which dont slow you down.

Ah, I see someone had the same issue. I had an all terrain car, and its trunk got absolutely demolished because of them. Oh and some windows broke for whatever reason.
Nordil(Hun) Jan 25, 2020 @ 7:24am
Actually there are two main issues with it.
One of them is that they act like normal trees or worse, so their cars even GOING slow over them is massive. (With full speed you can even die going over them!)
Secondly it is the area at which they ACT like a blockade.
You do not even need to necessarily hit them, it is enough if you hit their "invisible barrier/border" to get all the mentioned effects.
I would say currently the area where they act as a blockade and their actual form do not match.
Which is a greater issue. Not to mention that after a time they start to grow on roads as well. (Not sure about asphalt roads, but half of those not dirt roads not asphalt but something in between become unusable cuz of them)

Yes it's a major problem and the reason I usually change the erosion speed to be much slower and realistic. Trees grow at the speed of grass otherwise.

This issue has been reported for years by many and myself. I am happy to say it has been fixed in build 41. In build 41 small trees slow down vehicles and cause light damage instead. So no more concrete sticks of doom.

Wait wait, so this is the "fixed" result? Im playing on build 41 and this is still terrible.

Your vehicle slows down now instead of just hitting mini brick walls you cannot see. I like the change as it still places risk and is a step towards realism. Though the brush can quickly damage up your vehicle if we continue to bump into brush.

The magnetization effect pulling vehicles in trees needs reduced though. I would say a good 25% reduction would make it better.

Vehicle hitting brush coding requirements must have been written by city kids who never drove offroad. Because no matter what, brush does not damage a vehicle. It might scratch the paint, but that is it. It is metal against twigs, and guess which wins?

Wait, the issue was "fixed"? They still slow down cars by a lot, and I already mentioned what they did to my all terrain car.
And yes, I'm on B41

No, people were still complaining after the "fix" so the devs said they'll... fix it again I guess:

jeez thanks for the info, in this state although reduced its still pretty unacceptable

Alright, this is indeed bullsh*t, just severly damaged Leon's Jeep "Strangler" on a friggin sappling. An offroad vechicle...

This needs to be changed, this shouldn't be a thing - like ever.
