I heard a gunshot
I know there exist events like sudden loud sounds in the background (screams, dogs etc.). After excatly 4 days and 8 hours I heard a gunshot in the background (this could not be another player because I was playing in single player mode). Can this sound bring a zombie horde to my base or is it rather to scare the player?

thats one of the meta events, there will be no player or human and zombies will follow the sound, like a house alarm.

Zombies will follow the sound of the gunshot (naturally). So there is likely to be a horde moving in your local area. Depending on the noise made in your base and the type of base you have will have a chance that those zombies will attack it.

Thanks! Can you tell me please which sounds do not attract zombies? I heard some of them are just here to scare te player.

Thanks for the tip.

I found this on the PZ wiki in articule about zombies: "At times, helicopters flying overhead, gunshots being fired, dogs barking and humans dying in the distance will attract and move hordes of zombies. This is zombies reacting to the metagame, so that the zombies will migrate around the map. The metagame is in charge of creating zombie movement patterns around the map, to properly distribute them and make a balanced gameplay."

This confirms that any loud background sound attracts zombies. If my game did not save the progress, then there is still chance I won't have to leave my house (my game was not responding and I closed it). I really do not want to. I only need a few more things to be able to make a big progress.

After ten in-game hours I moved to another location.

When I was scavenging my new house I heard dog's barking. Yes, another metagame event. And yes, after only 10 in-game hours.
I am so scared at this moment. I do not know what I should do: look for a new house because of a horde of zombies incoming or just ignore that and pray it is a false alarm/

Screams and dogs barking are the only ones I can think of that don't draw the zombies attention.

I found on wiki that every metaevent noise attracts zombies. Maybe some of them just do not attract as many as the others.

Well the wiki isn't entirely correct. I have tested it extensively and can without a doubt say that the screams and dogs barking do not attract zombies.

Edit: I tested this by letting a small group of zeds live outside my house for a while. When dogs barked or someone screamed they didn't start to migrate and just continued to live outside my base until I went and cleared them.

Edit 2: I'm not saying it will always be this way and maybe eventually they will attract zombies, but as of this moment they do not.

Woah, great! Thanks for saying that! Now I can live in my house and not be afraid of a horde of zombies that could visit me.

My character actually survived 5 days and 11 hours. And you know what? I heard dog's barking, next gunshot and woman's scream! It only took something about 12 in-game hours to ecounter next metaevents! It was 5 actually! This game scares the creep out of me!
Inferjus Jun 30, 2018 @ 3:41am
5 days and 16 hours. Now the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ helicopter has come! This is my second run in this game and after not full 6 days helicopter decided to visit me. What am I supposed to do?

EDIT False alarm. Helicopter was here for a few seconds.

Racja. Jeszcze żadnego zombiaka nie znalazłem w tym miejscu.

Right. I did not find any zed yet.

This is personally different to my experience. Screaming from the house close to mine drew most zombies in the local area towards it.

The house remained heavily infested for some time after the incident. I only got to observe this as the house I was using had a high fence around it and it was easy to spot the Zombies streaming towards the scream.
