I will link to you the mod that posses it.

now from personal experience, I will tell you the spiked barricade didn't work for me, I can't say the same about the other barricades, never had them.

The author of this topic has marked a post as the answer to their question.

It would be amazing.
But, I think these traps are not needed. Unfortunately. There are no dangers in the game, from which it is worth defending with spikes or any other traps. It's enough to take the second floor, break the ladder and hang a couple of ropes from the windows ... This 100 is more than enough.

depends on what you are up against, once NPC's are implemented, they will climb your ladder/ropes just like you do, and then having those types of barricades, and especially traps will be very useful, since they are an indirect and silent way to dispose a possible loud weaponized survivor.

as it stands now it lacks many purposes outside of looking cool, but we will see what the future holds for such feature.

I really want the game to have traps. And you correctly write that nps can create problems.

But, one we must understand that it is necessary to introduce a defense system after the threats have been introduced or at least identified.

I do not think it's necessary to hurry here. (And, no one will go to the spikes. So the spikes will at best stop the NPC).

It is necessary to ask a number of questions, such as

What threats can exist, and what threats developers can implement in the game.

- Zombies
- Marauders and raiders
- Large predatory animals
- Monsters and Mutants?

It is clear that the spikes will not stop the marauders and raiders. In the end, they should set fire to the spikes and go through after everything burns out.
That is, the NPC is a threat against which spikes can not be coped.

Wild animals, predators, if they are not zombies, they most likely will not go on spikes. They also will not frighten them. Fire can stop predators, as effectively as ten rows of spikes.
And it is clear that a hungry predator will wait in the thickets, until the victim itself leaves the base surrounded by spikes.

Monsters and mutants, can appear only after the introduction of NPC, because they are not zombies and their actions should be sufficiently considered.

I say this in order to show that there is no threat in the future, which can be eliminated by spikes. And, at the moment, to survive, the player just takes the second floor. He can even plant a garden on the roof.

That is, you need to ask a question related to those who can actually fly on the spikes.

- why the zombies will come and attack the player's base?
- what zombies can ruin or broken (that is, why should the base be protected at all)?

And this should not be idiocy like hordes in the 7 days to die. "They come because they come."

Zombies can attract anything. Sound or smell from the base. The wind can bring up a zombie smell or sound.
Maybe Zambi will attract light from the upper windows? Or maybe the horde can lead a zombie scout? Or are they attracted by insects?

First, there must be a mechanics of threats from the zombies. After it can appear a system of traps, spikes and stakes. If the developers introduce the first npc, then I can assume that the zombies will remain pesky and useless staggering meat.

I really want the game to have traps and spikes, but this requires reasons for zombie hordes, and the reasons to defense, for the player.

I think you confused one of your points, yes dangerous/curious wild-life will not throw themselves at the spikes, however that's the point of it, they will stop wild dangerous animals from entering the protected area , moreover, they can Stop incoming vehicles on their tracks if such crashes into them, even if the spikes are destroyed the noise the both of them make would be a good way to note the cars/and its passengers presence.

I do find you well worded, however, and well acquainted.

I like the idea of cars. Moreover, I now remember road signs. I can imagine the traps of raiders on the road. Yes, I think about the movie "mad max", but not in desert conditions.

Another movie is recalled "Wrong Turn". And why would developers not populate some forests with mutant cannibals?

Escape from zombies... ok - get the most dangerous cannibal mutants, with axes, bows and much more than that. At the same time, spawning cannibals can be accidental. It's cool - the player finds an abandoned hut, goes to sleep in it, and wakes up at the moment when they cut off his head.

Or the player finds an empty hut of cannibals in the forest, takes away everything useful from there and dumps to the base.
Cannibals find the loss of loot, and the question of the persecution of a thief begins. If the cannibals returned to the hut within 5 hours, and the thief was injured or experienced menstruation, these creatures will be able to smell the subtle track in the right direction. They will track the player. They will come across spikes and either set fire to spike and a fence, or they will hunt the player from the outside... within a week or month.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I do not know much English. Maybe I could not get my message across.

Spikes will stop all creatures from the wild. Yes. But predators who will be on the hunt may wait several weeks in the vicinity. Maybe these predators will kill a rabbit or a deer, and the smell of blood, carried by the wind, will lead several hordes of zombies.

The rule of a good game - you have to pay for everything.

I had a good time, and I dreamed about how great it is to play a game that has "real" gameplay.

PZ has potential. This potential excites imagination and makes you imagine those things that will never be realized. I think it's worthwhile to thank the developers for this now.
