Can I funnel gas from cars I find ?

I have a small gas tank type standard which I want to fill.
But can't figure out how to funnel gas from cars I find.

Is it possible ?

If you have an empty gas can in your inventory just right click on the vehicle and select siphon gas. Usually get a quarter tank from one gas can

Oh. I tried right click but was not working. But does that mean the "gas tank" is the tank mounted in a car and is considered a spare part ?
I thought it was a portable tank container since I could pick it up.

I Should really be holding the empty gas CAN ?

Yes, the gas tank is indeed a spare part. And as far as I know, you must have an empty gas can in order to siphon gas from a vehicule. Even if your gas can 1% full, you won't be able to siphon gas with it (it's a bit annoying, but considering that empty gas cans are pretty common, it's not a big deal).

Yes I found a couple of empty gas cans already and left them since I thought I could not fill them up. For some reason I thought the gas tank spare part the right object to carry around :)

I'll check out the gas can next time.
