Project Zomboid

Why can't I make a wooden spear with any other knife then Kitchen/Hunter?
Or an axe... or even a pointy rock.

I mean any sharp object can shape wood in real life.
Kitchen/Hunting knifes can be a real pain to find. (more so then before or is that just my luck?)

Considering a "pointy stick" I'm pretty sure is considered the most readily available survivalist weapon in real life, I feel like they should be easier to obtain then they are in the game right now.

Especially considering how fast knifes break when crafting them and how flimsy the spears themselves are.

Yeah, it looks like kitchen knives are more rare now too. I guess everyone grabbed their knives and soap when they left in a hurry :D

Wiki says you can use a chipped stone, which can be found through foraging.

Not to mention all their garbage bags. I am surprised no one mentions this. You should be able to find garbage bags and kitchen bags of all types, everywhere. But there are like none, anywhere.

Yeah, they tend to keep the knifes somewhere in their neck or backside if you are lucky though...

It's not listed in the crafting menu, but I was convinced it was a thing myself. I'll have to try it when I get back to the game, but I think they may have removed that option in the current beta. Here's hoping they put it back in.

That might just be your luck though. I have had no problems finding garbage bags yet.

Me too. The round I just played had plenty of kitchen knives and garbage bags. Hmm... course I did have "lucky" trait
