Mechanic magazine or whatever you need.
I have looked through 2 towns, gone through 3 cars and have not found the magazine you need to repair your car.

Anyone know the best place to look?

Book stores, gas stations and mechanic shops. Can't say I've ever had a problem finding the car magazines as they are pretty common. The real trouble with repairing cars is that some models are more complicated then others. For example it might be easy to remove something from a standard vehicle but if you try with heavy vehicles you will find that it's much more difficult to remove the same parts. Your best bet is to start with a small vehicle as they are the simplest to fix. After you get a few points in mechanic skill you can move on to standard vehicles and finally Heavy Duty. Another thing I do is look for two vehicles that are exactly the same. If I have keys I move them both to my base and work on them there. If I can't find the keys I will just work on them in the parking lot. Start with vehicle A and remove every single part that you reasonably can and move them over to vehicle B. At first you will only be able to remove simple things like tires. After that go over to vehicle B and remove what you can while moving the parts over to vehicle A. Proceed to put them back togther again. I find you get no exp by simply taking parts of one car and putting them back on. You have to actually swap parts. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advise. A book store I didn't even think of.

I even have loot set to abundant and respawn but still have no luck finding one. Did find a fully intact police car with overall condition 92%

So I found one mag, 3 times now.

Crashed my car into a light post at 90 miles. So it's abit buggered now but still works
