tell me, what have you come across that is distinctive on your map?things like a prison complex, a big farm, a big storage house near an avenue, a big lake east of the map, things like that, I may be able to tell where you are.
however if you want to try the luck finding your own position you could acess the zomboid map, and try to triangulate your position on the map through areas you recognize.
even better, if you come across a compass, you can open it, and see your current coordinates, then you can go to the zomboid map site, and type your coordinates there, the map will tell you where you are.
here is the map:

if you want to, you can use cheats to teleport yourself to a landmark, and from there follow the map, or maybe you could even give yourself a compass, i am not totally sure, since I never used cheats.
here is the cheat menu:http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=499795221
whats up with that? and also is this stock game map any good if not do you have any maps that we can use with perhaps more exciting buildings areas?
Like mentioned above, find a landmark, the rest should be pie.
if you want to change your map to something more exciting you can use this mod:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1158053757
the mod is a compilation of all mod and vanilla maps togheter, you will have plenty to explore.since you are looking for "interesting buildings", i would recommend for you to go to Phoenix, it has great design.
Ok so if i use this mode you mentioned i will have a huge map with all those stock game cities and others people created right? also if i want to switch to this map will i have to start over with a new character or can me and my friend have our old characters transfered into this new map?
