Project Zomboid

Project Zomboid

Can we have more 'freak' zombie types, Gore, and infested zones?
Exploring the town is nice and cool, but bland and boring.

By freak zombies, im thinking ferals like from the movie I am legend, where they run and live in the dark, react to sound, and are deadly.

Infestation zones, where zombies infest a area, with so much gore, yet, lots of loot.

And zombie bosses, that spew bile, explode or.. whatever.

I dunno, the game gets boring after a while. Ive seen massive hordes attack a center base built by players, but, ... they all act the same.

Also Riot gear, something i proposed a LONG time ago on the forums ... where is it :(

The game is too easy.
Then again, infested zombie areas could spread... and hordes multiply. Prompting you or players online to destroy it. Like a nest.

Also wheres the guts... the torn Limbs... the extra blood trails... Mutations? Zombie Dogs? Zombie Crows?

Already confirmed by the devs that there will be no special type zombies, the lore is mainly focused on Romero's zombie world lore like in the movie Dawn of the Dead.... Shamblers and hordes of them. Could try out mods that affect the zombie behaviour to be more active during rainfall/ night time using various mods and tuning the sandbox settings of the zombie behaviour if "vanilla settings" are not your cup of tea. Hope it works out for you and have fun fellow survivor

Set all loot to rare, zombies to runners, and vehicles to low chance of having gas, and your game to 6 months later.

I guarantee you haven't done any of that if you think this game is too easy.

Yeah, too easy. But of course it depends on the skill.

zombie runners is the option for fun. And i'm not sure there are running zombies in Dawn of the Dead.
zombies capable of opening the doors are the same thing as the smart dinosaurs from the Jurassic World.

all that makes PZ really difficult is - dark nights and very cold winters (and specially incorrectly chosen traits as well).... plus cold... may be. Everything else... nope, more surreal but not more difficult.

there was a mod that forces zombies to hide from the rain in buildings. I did not try it, but purely theoretically it could be the third thing that can make the game really harder.

yep set the zombies to tough and strong, then make them sprinters, and maybe even download the anticipating zombies mod. DO NOT couple that with high zombie numbers as even a few of them will be too much. This game is not too easy of you know how to mess with the sandbox settings and use the mods.

Ok i readed a guy complaining and saying that the game is too easy, and some other guys saying that he should make the game harder. Fallout 4 is easy as ♥♥♥♥ and it doesn't make it any better to put it in higher difficulties if these aren't good structured. I kinda agree with him, and some people over react, saying that the game is "extremely hard". The first time i tried it seriusly in the 6 months later mode i surviven 4 months and DIED FROM A GLITCH. Revived in the same game and my PC eventually ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ died. The thing is that you can easily survive a very long time, it's really not that difficult. But what i like of this game is the problems that it makes you go through and how you try to go on, until you die. The game IS easy but it doesn't need to be super hard.

For real, Sprinter Zombies changes the game drastically. You can no longer just walk away from zombies, they're now way faster than you are, and will come and attack you when you least expect it.

But the game's gameplay is not designed for that, it's just to make experiments and so. And one thing i hate about this game, imagine you're in survival mode when not a week has passed since the first infection... Why the ♥♥♥♥ parked cars, in parking lots, are damaged in a way that seems they've got 2 o 3 traffic accidents before? Why NONE of the cars have gas... When they are parked... In a parking lot? And maybe if not a week but three days have passed i guess i could accept the fact that their gas has been taken away by someone... But survival mode starts in day one (Casually with everyone already as zombies) or day two. There has been no time for that to happen. It really pisses me off now that i remember it.

There is 'sandbox' mode for those who want to create their own 'realistic' zombie apocalypse.

I set it so vehicles have gas and are not all broken down wreaks.

I set the initial zombies low, but they ramp up fast after a few weeks as I would expect it to happen.

I also change the loot, since so many people became zombies so fast, I do not see why loot should be rare. I set it all to normal. I also change the hoard sizes, make them bigger, but further apart from each other.

There are plenty of settings you can do, to make the game more enjoyable for you, so your not getting pissed off about it.

yep like they said above they told me the same thing when i asked if it was moddable

"Devs said nu uh"

This is what I've tried to do with my settings too. Makes it feel a little more lore friendly, while still keeping a decent challenge to the game in the long term.

The default difficulties would still be ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up, and the loot is good as it is. That goes fast (And there are the barricated houses that have a lot of food).

Yeah, too easy. But of course it depends on the skill.

Skill? I've been playing since about 2014, I know how to play this game. Fact is, facing a horde of sprinters is going to change the way you play the game.

I'm calling B.S. on your "too easy" assessment unless you can post some video of you dominating these fast moving hordes while looting and crafting things to survive.

no matter how long you play. if you haven’t studied and are constantly doing the same actions, these are just your problems. This is not to mention the fact that in this game there are a million gameplay holes to survive in any sandbox settings.

I know you didn't talk to me, but i would want to show what i said with screenshots too. I don't have my PC to upload any other ones, and i just upload to report stuff that the game needs, or me making experiments with big hordes (In a super easy sandbox JUST to make experiments). The only thing i have of my last game is the one or two screenshots i did, maybe a bit more. You can check my profile, i don't send them because i have no PC at the moment and i'm writting this in a cellphone. Anyway, i won't proof anything with lazy screenshots. I can just give you my word.

This doesn't mean i'm a super master playing. I do scavenge pretty well, i know what to do to survive, and i do have a basic knowledge of various skills since i play alone. But i also have my moments when, like, i once ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ died cooking soup in a campfire, that gives you an idea.

Also, another thing i don't like of the game, i started to hunt rabbits in the forest in my last saved game. I had lots of food, but it were al vegetables or fruits of the forest, so i ended up with very low weight, and i could have died because of that. 4 days in game of my first huntings and i ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GOT 15 KG OF EATING JUST RABBIT. It's true that i ate a lot without needing just to gain weight, but maybe i ate 8 without being hungry and, 15 kg out of nothing... And i didn't have perks like "Light eater" or anything. It was all normal.

It's not just easy, in that particular case, it was UNREALISTIC. And was playing a normal or hard game on the 6 months later mode, just so you don't tell me thing like i had "Probably all in easy".
