Washing clothes

Is anyone else having issues with washing clothes? I have soap and tried clicking a sink or with a cooking pot of water. I also tried the new washer/dryer feature. Yet no luck, I do not see the wash category appear.

I tried uninstalling all my mods except my map pack. So am I missing something or has anyone else had this issue?

You interact with the washer by dropping the dirty clothes inside of it and then flicking the "on" button. Similar to how you would operate an oven. The washer requires no soap btw so I find it worth the effort of plumbing a rain collector barrel to the washing machine after the water works fail.

When using a sink it should definately give the option called "wash clothing". It's strange that it doesn't appear for you. All you need is the soap, and you can still be wearing the clothes you want to wash.

OK I placed some dirty bloody clothes in the washer. I did not see a turn on or wash.

is the rain barrel and sink 4 clean water still working or not
tryed barrel behind sink , 1 away from sink , 1 stair above and 1 above and 1 away , even tryed wrench and pipe wrench , still cant connect them !

With a washing machine, just click Turn On

Needs electricity and water (can be from water barrel)
You dont need to stay, there is a timer and it turns off itself when everything is clean
A dryer, the machine just nearby, isnt a washing machine....they look similar

If the sink was preexisting then you need to pick it up and put it back down before the option shows up.

What do you do once the water was shut off and the sink is out of water?
I have plenty of pots and bottles with water and soaps, but i cant interact with any of them to start washing. Do I need a water barrel now?

it uses your water bottle. so if you have water and a couple of bottles you can wash. stupid that you have to use a bottle to wash with.

What you do is build a rain barrel above and one tile over and plumb the washer to that using a wrench. The same method works for clean water from a sink.

I have a washer dryer combo, and it won't let me turn it on. I have it plumbed and I have a generator at max condition. It doesn't even acknowledge that it's a washing machine, it acts like it's a sink when I right click on it and it doesn't even show the on or off button. Know of any fix? I have clothes in it btw.

1. You can always make a new thread, no need to necro years old topic.
2. Turn on the generator.
3. The washing machine needs to be within the generator's range.
4. The on/off button is on the inventory window.

I'm having this problem too, I can't wash anything, tough I didn't tried unstalling my mods, I didn't had the courage, I should be able to wash my clothing having soup and a cocking pot with water right?

I'm having this problem too, I can't wash anything, tough I didn't tried unstalling my mods, I didn't had the courage, I should be able to wash my clothing having soup and a cocking pot with water right?

It is possible when you have water and soap in the main inventory.
Doesn't work from the backpack.
Also if you place a cooking pot with water on the ground you should be able to rightclick it an select what to wash.
This also works for water barels / collectors / lakes / rivers.
