Satan possessed my game, crashed it, and I lost some of my progress.

So, I was rummaging around a self-storage in west point, I was ludicrously tired, and I myself, the player was on edge because there was only about one escape out of the building. After I finish up doing my stuff, I hear some zombies outside, nothing out of the ordinary, when suddenly Satan himself rises from hell to pay me a personal visit. It was 1 in the morning when I was playing and pretty dark, so when Mr. Satan decided to give me a deep and hearty laugh, I alt tabbed out of the game and left for a while. But, when I tried to get back in, I encountered a bug that would not let me reopen the game, forcing me to close it.

All I want to know; Has anyone else heard Satan’s laugh?

I googled a tiny bit and couldn't find anything, but before I closed the game I was checking the log and it mentioned a voiceambient when it was beginning the ambient music and sounds for night. Devs, give me answers, I have turned all the lights on in the house, and am scared to sleep.

Are you using any mods? I know the necroforge mod has an evil laugh sound when you open it.

I think that's what did it. I installed that mod for a previous save, couldn't get it working, and never bothered to uninstall.

It's kind of interesting that Necroforge didn't work for you as even the devs use it for testing purposes. It's possible that there is another mod breaking it as well. You could try starting a fresh game and turning on each of your mods one at a time until you find the offending mod. I recommend Necroforge being the first one you activate so that you can try to exclude that as the issue.

Edit: A major conflict between mods could also explain the crash.
