Power Out, how do I get gas?

In the vanilla game, how do I get gas after the power has shut off. I stockpiled around 20 cans of gas but that runs out quick. I know there were pump mods to hook up a generator to the gas pump a while ago. Has that function been added to the unmodded original version of the game yet? Or would I have to download a mod to get that function? Cheers :)

You can hook a generator to a gas station as part of vanilla now. So get out there and get you some fuel. Lol

you will need to read the How to use Generators magazine in order to use one.

Can also siphon gas from cars a helpful trick is to fill up all the cars at one of the gas stations with feul before the power goes out then you still have a stash to fall back on if the power goes out and you haven’t found a generator or the how to use generator mag. just yet

Also on top of the rest, you can pump gas from stations directly into cars if it's powered up so you can fill it to the top easier than gas cans. Just useful if you're in a hurry maybe to get gas without rummaging through your inventory.

Yep, once you have 2 generators, one for base, one for gas station (or one single if base is a gas station...) you are golden with fuel

Just dont forget to turn off the gas station generator when you dont need it
No need to attract zombies for nothing

Plus the generator has chance to catch fire if low condition :D If I remember correctly.

tbhs you can just get lucky find some gas in cars then do the gen in the gas station thingy
