Maybe the devs fixed this or something. I suppose some generators are probably bigger than a car trunk would allow space for anyways, but then again, you'd be able to use a bungee cord to secure the trunk anyways (much like one does when putting a bicycle in the trunk or something).
EDIT: Which just sparked a thought: What if the developers implemented trailers you could hitch to your vehicle? That would be an amazing way to increase loot carrying capacity with a vehicle while still requiring a ton of care and caution to use effectively while looting/driving.
Accidentally jackhammer the trailer into your own car or the side of a building while backing up? Sucks to be you. Zombies clamber into the trailer or block your path completely? Sucks to be you. Take a turn too quickly and have the trailer crash, spilling and most likely destroying most of your loot? Sucks to be you.
It would fit the atmosphere quite well I think. :^)
You certainly can power a gas station with a generator. I almost always set up at gas stations because of this.
thanks, I was wondering, however the problem is that i wasnt able to transport to generator there, it seems that i havent sorted weight in this game properly yet but i guess thats it, it weighs 40 on ground wich wouldnt fit the 35 trunk, but alas, its bugged and you can place one on your 20 seat !
in fact i didnt even knew you could put stuff on seats, and that you could also fill the driver seat with crap and not be able to drive the car, found it the hard way..
Just carry the generator yourself. They weight surprisingly little when you do. If for whatever reason you need to use an actual weapon, drop the generator until your done and pick it back up. You can even drive a car while doing this.
This is the main use of generators
Get gas for your cars and for your base generators
Generators weight 40
Much less in hands (12 or something) because of the weight reduction for things you carry by hands
You can put the generator in a trunk if there is 40+ free space...or in a seat
For whatever reason, a seat can carry the full 40 generator
To take it back, you need to carry less than 10 weight so that what you carry + generator stays under 50
