how do you put out fires ?
me and a few friends were playing on a sever one the whole town we were in burned down O.o
we think someone set fire to some zombies and the spread it but dang O.o

I'm a new player but already encountered that. You need to have some container filled with water, right click on fire and chose the,"put fire out" this will create an area of effect circle showing the area the fire will be doused. As long as it's green means you still got water to redouse the fire. When it goes red you'll need to refill your water container. Be warned however it's not immidate and takes time to work like in RL

ok thanks =) i might be a older player but some things i have never needed to do (like put out a fire lol)

You can also find an fire extinguisher that will put out like 10 tiles before used up.

This is true, but it sounds to me like the fire was already out of control, so being able to put out fires I don't think would've been helpful in that situation.

Water, fire extinguishers, and bags of dirt/sand/gravel all work to extinguish fires, to different degrees of effectiveness (pretty sure the bags of X are the best).
