stairs not working

im building my own base in the forest but i can not get to the second floor, ive build stairs but when i try to walk up them my character just passes through them, is there a fix for this issue?

First time I ever heard of this happening, are you using any mods? Do other stairs in houses work? Have you tried rebuilding the stairs?

Is there any chance that you have noclip turned on with cheatmenu, necroforge or admin options?

i have cheatmenu, hydrocraft and eris minimap, the pre-built stairs in buildings work and ive tried deconstructing/destroying and rebuilding

I would probably go with what planetalgol said as well, turning on flying can make you clip through the stiars as well. You could just disable the cheat menu to test it out, it shouldnt break anything.
