Start that game up and then exit the game normally.
Now go to that new savegame folder in C:\Users\mnehr\Zomboid\Saves\Sandbox\TIMEANDDATE.
Copypaste the map_p.bin file from this new savegame and move it to your actual sandbox save folder, replacing the old file.
I did actually read that when searching but of course I forgot to add that in my post sadly lol
Can I check the settings in the file with notepad or something? or is it encoded and needs some downloaded program to read it lol
Cheers for your quick reply
Edit, after a quick look, don't think i can see a file in there i can change since there is so many in there haha
with that, I think I might just start a brand new game and triple check and SAVE the settings before i start it haha
It is in clean english and it is not too hard to guess what is what and edit if needed
Still, it is just simplier to always save the settings before starting a game for future reference
It would be better to have an ingame way to check the current game settings.... and probably not too hard to code
Agreed, Would be great to be able to see what the solo settings are AFTER starting one, Now that I know that Notepad works, I will have to// will probably end up checking the old one now since i have started a couple of new ones already playing around with other settings lol
Since my first post I am always hitting save now BEFORE I start it haha
My newer save.. Think I just need to to alter the migration time, 12 hours feels far to quick to repopulate sections ive cleared around a spot i decide to make a temp base out of with insane population..
I pick a spot, clear the house and few around it by bringing them closer to said temp base house as to try and not draw in more to the one I'm clearing but, the very next day.. there is more in and around it..
What I basically want is to be able to clear places and not have it be full of Zs again the next day, the odd Z is fine to me, I also dont want to turn the respawns of either because it would get boring quick with no threat unless I go looking for it.
Think I have seen cells, respawn 168 hours, unseen double, been thinking once i change the migration time to like 2-3 days ill solve that issue haha..
I always have trouble finding the right sandbox settings for me, I tend to do this a few days, get bord not finding the right ones then decide to play something elts.. Not this time tho, by hell or high water I am finding the right ones this time and SAVEING them, then seeing how long I can stay alive without being stupid and getting myself killed lol
On that note, I think there is just the right amount of options for sandbox,
( Need to be able to see them after starting a solo game please Devs, even if they cant be changed )
other games have very little to not really the right ones
Either too much or not enough seems to be the usual thing ;D
Just beware of a too long 'unseen hours' as it basically removes any respawn if you patrol around your base
Like the amount of options too
Still, would like a few more...
A second 'peak day' to be able to make non fully linear ramps up
A way to customize random zombies (the % i want of each)
A new zombie distribution, still urban focused...but with some everywhere else instead of none
A new option to spawn huge amount of zombies (hundreds to thousands) in map corners at chosen intervals...and let them migrate
the one thing i want is to change the time of day, i have been watching Hasi Lein play on youtube and his days are soooo long. Now i will try this edit and change my time. I am in rosewood and have massive electric drain thru bunch of icecream freezers. 2 days full gas load before the genny dies. 2days travel and killing and looting is not enough time the way it is normally. Hasi Lein had built this massive giant base in 13 days time. So i am going to do this to try the time difference. thanks.
Yup thats pretty much what i want haha, I want to be able to clear them out and only have a few migrate / respawn back in to those places a good week or more after i do so...
Day length.... Think i will have to take a look at that myself now and also check out Hasi Lein on youtube, cheers for dropping the name..( any idea what his day length is ? )
You know what, Think that is all i might need to change now, is the bloody day length. longer day length with longer migration hours. think the migration is still default 12 hours or at 24 currently.. If i push the migration to around 168 hours / 7 days and with an over all longer day length.. That might just do it lol
@Ficelle That massive hoard would be great actually, Having cleared a good chunk of say my base of operations, it would be great to have a massive hoard just wondering around and if im not careful i could run in to them and or they run into my base
hmm, well that sux, cheers for letting us know
also, cheers for letting me know he has it at 3 hours, saved me some time trying to find that out by going throu his youtube and or twitch vids
First, if you want to edit your save you will put this on the down-low. If you are, however, putting flaws or things to work through... Then you should check with the devs.
can i get an update of this in 2022? does this still work? how can i do this now?
