The problem is that i dont really know of any way to amplify the amount of EXP you get, as far as i have figured out, nothing effects the rate at which fitness raises, it will always raise at one point per hit.
Strength however can fluctuate for many reasons, but i havent figured out all of them yet, i do know that being obese seems to increase EXP per hit to 2 EXP, and being overweight is 1.4~ish, very very very slightly more then 1.4 but its super damn close, and lastly doing it while injured (weather its due to pain or scratches that havent been healed yet, i know not) gives 3 EXP to strength per hit, but fitness is always 1 point.
Thinking of it like that though, starting off with the worst strength and the best fitness modifiers makes more sense then the reverse since strength can be consistently and controlably leveled significantly faster then fitness. (i started both at the lowest point, and by the time im half way done getting the EXP for fitness 5 ill be done strength 6)
This.
Also running (fitness) arround with to much cargo (strength) helps leveling.
Being obese or overweight doesn't effect you xp modifiers for Strength or Fitness. Nothing does. What you are experiencing is the fact that low levels of Strength and Fitness take much, MUCH less XP to level up than high levels. The last level of Strength and Fitness requires more xp than all the other levels combined. What I'm saying is, is that Strength and Fitness have an exponential xp growth rate, and it's ridiculously high. The reason for that is because they want level 4-5 of Strength and Fitness to be the standard for every character, because that level represents an average person's health. Only bodybuilders should be at max level Strength, and only marathon champion runners should be at max Fitness. Your average everyday person is certainly neither of those things, because it requires a massive amount of training to reach those levels of strength and fitness.
And as for the EXP getting significantly more each level? thats obvious as hell good man, it goes 1500, 3000, 6000, 9000, 18000, 30000, from what ive seen so far, and while yes its a good arguement to say the last levels are supposed to be unreachable, id also like to counter that arguement that living in the zombie apocalypse is going to condition you into a much more fit person, additionally, where are all the weights and arobics gear? i should be able to set up a gym to train should i not? but future release i do hope.
Now please, dont be so dismissive, thats not what the topic is, im asking for any confirmed information about it.
Alright, I just went and tested every scenario that you did. Started a new game with a new character, picked either ONLY the Obese, Overweight, or no traits. Lastly I injured myself. Each time I walked up to a tree and pushed it. EVERY SINGLE TIME IT WAS ONLY 2 XP. No matter what trait I had, and being injured didn't change it either. This is on the latest IWBUMS. IT WAS ALWAYS 2 XP. And the fitness modifiers ALWAYS stay at +125%. Nothing changes that either. So no, YOU ARE WRONG. Or something is wrong with your game or you are using mods that are changing the values, or you aren't doing a controlled test. Now please, don't talk to me like I don't know what I'm talking about.
Now onto the important part, Can you describe to me in detail everything about your condition while injured? where your arms injured or just other body parts? where you hungry or starving or any other such negative moodle, positive moodles even? any particular traits? because id like to know why you are getting 2 instead of 3.
Dude, NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO IT IS ALWAYS 2 XP. IT DOESN'T CHANGE. I'm done with this conversation because apparently you can't understand that.
Maybe it's viable to level with the hydrocraft-able bench or the treadmill, but in vanilla I simply stopped bothering.
I just hope we get actual gym equipment as vanilla type stuff that we can use for actual training of fitness and strength, hell why not allow us to punch trees while holding weights for extra EXP, 1 in each hand is 1 bonus EXP each, after that i dunno, a heavy backpack also increases EXP, alot of ways to go about it really.
