im pretty sure you need to find the recipie magazine, check mail boxes often...
Landor Aug 4, 2017 @ 8:20am
you can get them from disassembling metal objects with a torch and welding mask. you cant craft them, only scavange them from existing objects.

EDIT: this information is incorrect, you can combine small metal plates to make larger ones. you do still only get metalworking materials from scavanging existing objects however, you cant craft them from renewable raw materials.

Fam i am your hero ok, listen up buttercup. I'm not sure if there is a magazine so take whatever character you are using and jump off the nearest building and then make your new character a metalworker or whatever its called and then get a mask a propane torch some like welding rods i think and then you have to use small metal sheets to make big metal sheets its like a ratio of either 3:1 or 4:1 dont listen to theese guys that say you cant craft them they havent experienced the true power of the metalworker.

last i checked, you can only craft metal sheets with hydrocraft. since OP didnt mention if they were using any mods, i assumed they were using vanilla.

EDIT: also incorrect, an assumtion on my part that proved to be incorrect.

legit loser trying to argue with someone who has more experience than him
Dire Aug 6, 2017 @ 1:38pm
How do we know if you have more experience then him? Your profile is private Bob.

Anyways Bob chill. Being a butthole doesn't help anyone.

i havent done anything to insult you, yet you seem to have a great amount of contention for me. if i may ask, why?

the most mods i have used are tweaks or quality-of-life stuff, i dont have any interest in expantion mods for PZ.

i have been going on my experience with metalworking (which is mostly from when it came out, and even then i didnt dive in very far,) and the limited information i can find online, so please excuse me if i am incorrect. i may as well boot PZ up and check myself, not really any reason not to aside from your hostile attitude.

You were so insistant that you were right and i am wrong but im sorry that's just not the case maybe i would have been nicer to you if instead of saying no you are wrong i am right you could have tried to make a metal sheet and if it works (wich it will because ive done it before on vanilla) then youd be like wow thanks bro really helpfull instead of this brat coming and saying i was wrong flat out which im not so ♥♥♥♥ you kid honestly
Who Dat Aug 6, 2017 @ 1:47pm
TL;DR Small metal sheets make big metal sheets
Who Dat Aug 6, 2017 @ 1:52pm
i am sorry for being rude honestly but i dont apreciate some kid telling everyone im wrong when im not, and anyway OP you should be using metal bars because they are OP if your tired of accidentally falling out of windows metal bar it and you cant take the bars out and your safe from falling
Landor Aug 6, 2017 @ 2:05pm
i stated once i thought it was a mod feature, i also said my information was dated.

you are correct, i checked myself.

however, i dont understand why you would get so bent out of shape because somone said you were incorrect? even in this case that they (being me,) were actually the incorrect party, i dont understand why you would insult me so, when you could just request me to check your facts.

EDIT: i reread the thread, and i must apologize for somthing else. i assumed you were making a mistake, and mixing hydrocraft with the base game, but i was false with that.

it has happend before, where somone offered assistance to a request for help, and what they said pertained only to if you were using hydrocraft where OP didnt state if they were using it. my mistake was thinking it was happening again.

EDIT2: i added addendums to my previous posts, stating that my information is incorrect. i wont delete them entirely so anyone browsing this thread later can have the full context of our exchange.

Anywhoo i totally just checked in the crafting menu of the vanilla game Op and its 4 small metal, sheets 7 units of Hank hills Propane, and a welding mask. Another reason to make barred windows aswell is itll split the resources small metal sheet wil lbe hard to come by depending on loot settings so wil lbars but if your getting both youl lbe fortified twice as fast. Do bars on the bottom floor but construct them on the outside of your base so you can even put planks or eventually more metal sheets just to block the vision of the zeds because i mnot too sure but they can probably see through the metal bars and then up top do metal sheets incase a huge number bashes your defenses you can take off a sheet and have a rope handy for a quick escape. metalworking was such a legit update XD <3

*didnt realise landors screenie was of the crafting menu but yeah thats the recipe
