To your original question, no. There's no official cure for the infection and never will be. You can get a mod or turn off the infection.
That being said: in my hundreds of hours playing this game I have yet to survive a bite.
Honestly, I think you can't survive them and since no dev ever comments on this matter, i assume they might want people to continue to believe that you can survive a bite ;D
It's also possible to "survive" the zombie plauge, but it's a lot of work.
I survived so long, my bite actually healed. I went a little over a month until I got bored with eating all the time.
