Is the screwdriver best weapon in the game?
It can one-shot zombies even with zero blade skill and has very respectable durability. Is this unintentionally the best weapon? I can take on an entire horde of zombies with ease with the screwdriver. Last time I tried that with the axe I had to run away even though I had 3 blade skill at that point. I've heard the hunting knife is also an excellent weapon but have never found it.

Knife is really good but also dangerous!
One bad step and it can result in a bite.

You can find 1-3 hunting knives in police stations.
Never used a screwdriver though. While playing survival I used for a long time butter knives and kitchen knives. They got a pretty good critical hit chance it seems.

Butter knives break after one hit for me?
Are you referring to an older build Pvt. Hudson?

And I love the screwdriver =D

It was my first time playing, I was able to kill 1 or 2 zombies with those. It was the previous build 35.

I use the machete a lot, plenty everywhere and weighs nothing. Fast and will kills in one move if done properly.

Thats a wepon from the Hydrocraft mod, but the question was if the screwdriver is the best weapon in the game, and its one of the best weapons at all.

This was a joke though, last time I played was not possible to double wield weapons.

Mine wasnt. Lol
The hydrocraft mod makes surviving the apocalypse simple child's play. Supplies are everywhere.

Maybe, but it depends... you can tune how rare loot is, and with other sandbox options it is very easy to make a hard playthrough. IMO most people using Hydro are looking for more content. I never had a problem surviving in this game, moded or not so from my perspective I see no difference.

For no legitimate reason at all, I threw together a quick script to average the amount of zombie kills you'd get over the lifespan of a weapon.

Results:
Hunting Knife: ~210 kills
Screwdriver: ~80 kills
Kitchen Knife: ~30 zombies

For those curious in the script/methodology: https://jsfiddle.net/ynbnjk5t/

Edit: Assumption was you'd use the 1 hit jaw stab.

Good work! I finally found a hunting knife and so far have repaired it 5x already :).

On another topic, I've killed ~1200 zombies and haven't found a single axe drop on any of them despite having the lucky trait :(. I really wish the crude axe quality went up depending crafting skill. Loot is just so random. Last game I couldn't find a saw anywhere. Searched large, urban, small warehouse - nothing. Finally found one at the railyard. In that game I had found like 5 axes. In my current game it seems like saws are everywhere but have only found 1 axe and I've run out of obvious places to search for them.

This really is a problem depending on the game mode your playing. It has to do with the loot rarity settings.

If you play sandbox, put the loot at normal and you will find some axes.
