If you stay well fed, you can live forever after getting zombification.
Of course, your food bill will be very high...

you will never be zombified or be infected by the zombie virus, but you can still get normal infections from not properly dealing with your wounds.

Should be a way to cut off your arm if you get bit there and survive (But you're missing an arm and can't do ♥♥♥♥ now...)

The problem of removing zombification is that bites never heal so u will end up with multiple uncurable injuries that u will have to bandage forever ... quite sad that they dont fix that :(

Bites do heal, they just take a long time.

I went a month with zombification and the bite did heal. But having to eat all the time was a pain in the backside. I would prefer that it eventually just killed you outright.

A month ?!! geez ... one of my friends has 5 bites (we have turned zombification off) but that means is longer time than a fracture to heal O_o Did u try to suture it ?

The bite was healed after about 2 or so weeks, staying fully fed the whole time. I also applied herbs a few times.

Since you have zombification turned off, your probably not keeping the well fed moodle up all the time, so you will heal slower. With zombification on, if you don't stay well fed all the time, you die pretty quick.

I only applied the best disinfected bandages money could buy. I was surprised when the bite healed. I was trying to see if the game would finally kill me or not. After that long, I found my answer, and it was, it does not.

I survived some zombie scratches to my arm in vanilla hardcore once. I had to keep it clean all the time, rested more and ate a lot. Couldn´t survive a bite later on the same game though. :-(

No, bites infect 100% of the time, scratches are believed to be roughly 25% chance of infection.

From what i understand, every time a zombie deals damage, the game rolls to see if it breaks the skin, the chance for your skin to break from an attack is 25% base, thick skinned increases these odds to 15%, and assuming im not wrong about the gaurd skill, each point in the gaurd skill adds +1% to this chance as well, meaning at best you can have a low 5% chance for the skin to break from any attack by a zombie.

When the skin does break, the game rolls to see if its a bite or a scratch, the odds are 25/75 respectively, with these odds it means that any time the skin breaks from an attack you have to dodge two 25% chances of being infected in a row, for your own personal survival ensure to the best of your ability that you do not recieve damage from the undead, as chances are very high that any hit can kill you.

I am not 100% sure on any of this, but this seems to be the most accurate and detailed explanation, and as far as surface level viewing can tell you, is fairly accurate.
