Thats up to you. In the Sandbox, you can set it from as low as 15-minutes, all the way up to real-time. Meaning... that one day in game will pass in 15(real) minutes, up to 1-minute of game time for 1-minute of real time.

I don't know what the settings are for the scenarios.
I'm playing a 12hs gameplay day. I love it because you don't spend precious daylight doing run of the mill chores.
However, some things (like building) are unbalanced. I put up a twenty tile log wall in a few gameplay minutes, and I got those logs from cutting down 40 trees the same morning.

I don't know how they would balance that, though. Because, even if reading book does take way longer, you can always fastforward time in the safety of your base, while if they did the same with building or cutting trees it would be either really dangerous to speed up time, or ridiculously boring to watch for zombie attacks the whole time you are building.

Default timescale is 10 to 1. 10 minutes of gametime for every 1 minute of real time.

hello guys, i am trying to change the daylength of my apocalypse save (no sandbox), in the map_sand.bin file says "daylength 3", i started a new sandbox game with 12 hours daylength to be able to replace the original "daylength" with the value from the new file, but when i edit it with HxD or notepad++ it resets to 3.

what am i doing wrong?

The easiest way is to create a new save and copy the map_sand.bin file to your old save because the file is in some binary format which causes errors if the file or field lengths change.
