Well, you could just change the loot availability, but nothing specific in the settings allows this as far as I know.
To be honest, it never even occured to be that someone would want to get rid of guns. :D
I thought you were thinking about unableing survivors to shoot each other in MP.
Since rapid-fire, beltfed, squad automatic weapons, kinda breaks the illusion. :D
Only think I can do is suggest the obvious: just don't use the guns you find.
how do the items.txt and the newitems.txt differ?
newitems.txt is the new items.
If you don't want an item, just delete them from there. At least that is what Enigma says. Seems to me the distribution lists might create errors for items that are not defined in the items lists.
