How do I know a fridge has electricity?
See, I moved a fridge from the mart to my house (I was going for the smaller ice box but that got ruined), now I'm wondering...does it have any power?

I'm playing the most beginner mode so I don't know if the power goes out in this mode?

Okay, nvm...
I found out that you can know its freezing from the food in the freezer. Click on it to find more info.
there are various ways to check if power is running still.
  • you'll hear the hum/whirring of the fridge running, mostly as you get closer to it
  • lights and such around will come on, if light switches don't work theres probably not power
  • when checking the inventory of cold storage, if food items turn blue then the power is on and items will remain cold (also frozen icon when in freezers)
also how did the smaller ice box get ruined?

Thanks, the ice box sort of became some kind of material...I'll need to check back what the exact name was as I left with the bigger fridge.
oh, some large things will break down into two pieces, usually because they're very heavy I think. just haul both pieces (they should say 1/2 & 2/2) to where you want to set it up and then use the "place" option.

Is that so? Okay I'll try to get that Ice Box set and try it! :)

I don't think you can take apart a fridge in the new update, last time I tried to pick one up it said too heavy, so I started watching out for the mini fridges. I don't recall an option to take them apart like beds or large metal shelves. I think that was just in the last update that it changed. I had to take apart almost every electronic item on the board before I upped my electrical skill enought to get to level 3 so I could take a stove apart and move one into the warehouse since now putting a metal pot in the microwave causes a fire. That was when I noticed I could no longer pick up a full sized fridge and climb up a sheet rope with it.

Last I picked one up (the tall fridge in the food markets and such) I had to have enough inventory space free, and even then I could only hold one at a time. This was also done on the vehicles testing branch, so it could be in that update that fridges were tweaked.

I have the Construction Worker Trait, only carrying around 4 points in weight (double big hiking bags included) and was able the carry the 40 weight fridge. Its a back breaking labor so make sure to clear all zombies on the way before you attempt... There isn't an option for the fridge to become a 'Set' but its on auto after you try to pick something that is too heavy like the Ice Box.
Run back with the set, and try to place it like a furniture and it will automatically show where you want to set.

Equip the fridge secondary or primary and it drops its weight to something like 6-12 from 40, depending on the fridge

I reported that in bugs at the same time I reported the sledging generator thingy but its not exactly a priority fix. Its hilarious that i can run around with an industrial fridge in 1 hand :p
