If you have more than 4GB of RAM, running the game on 64 bit will make use of it all, and even more if your motherboard allows it.

The difference wouldn't be noticeable, however, if you got more than 4GB of free RAM when playing Project Zomboid, you can play in 64 bit.

It might be a little bit faster.

Soldier, what motherboard are you using? Are you sure that you have 4GB spare when playing, meaning you dont have 30 tabs in chrome, more than 1 anti virus and game active etc? Needs to be 4GB available. You can check this in task manager.

Make it crash again and post the console.txt up on pastebin.com, linking it here. It will tell us what's up.

Unless you have a 32 Bit OS there is no reason to go for the 32 Bit version of the game. I'm fairly sure we're going to default to 64 Bit at some point.

Nope, my laptop is 64bit by default. Though in the files it says 86bit but anyway. I'll try remember to do that.

Better memory usage. That is the difference.

Yeah, it's memory usage stuff. It's only really noticeable if you have more than 4GB of ram available. Like I have 16GB IIRC and it makes a HUGE difference. But it'll vary.

Could be all crashy because you may not have the 64 bit Java to run it.
Yes those are separate installs in the wonderful world of Oracle :(

Installing Java is completely irrelevant to PZ. We ship the JVM with the game.

This^

Enough RAM and OS is what is required. Let him post the crash.txt before we jump to conclusions.
