Project Zomboid

Font size issue
The font size in this game is way too small for me to play. I've read all of the other posts and tried everything. I've changed the resolution, played in fullscreen, changed font size to maximum -everything. I even messed with my computer's display setting to try to make the font bigger but nothing makes a difference.

What's weird about this is this hasn't always been an issue. I used to have an average size laptop, Toshiba Satellite -maybe a 13in screen (I forget the screen size exactly). I upgraded about a year ago to an Alienware 17in and ever since then the font has been ridiculously small. No matter what I do I can't get it to be readable like it used to be. I used to have no problems at all reading anything, but now it's like everything is stuck at font size 3.

This game has been unplayable for me for a year. Sure hope some fix comes to this soon or at all. Until then I'll be uninstalling as this is just taking up unneeded space.:steamsad:

Exactly! There have been times where I tried to grin and bear it just because I do love this game, but STILL no real solution.

Maybe someday. :2016imnotcrying:

Go to %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Steam\steamapps\common\ProjectZomboid. Right click on each of the ProjectZomboid*.exes (red and black egg) and go into Properties. Under compatibility, disable DPI scaling. This way, they will ignore the system wide DPI setting.

(This applies for any program on Windows that doesn't scale.)

This worked for me! I also have alienware 17 with a 4k screen. If I would try to turn resolution down to 1080 in fullscreen. but then it would open in the top left corder of the screen of my desktop. unchecking DPI scaling setting was the magic fix. Game is finally playable.

This worked for me also! I had to check the "Override high DPI scaling behavior" option, and choose Application, rather than system. I also still had to change my resolution scale in game, but the font size increased dramatically when I did that! :steamhappy:

I'm so excited to be able to play again! Thanks so much EnigmaGrey! :steamhappy:
