Project Zomboid

Scared
I am consistently scared. I am a ♥♥♥♥♥, avoiding zombies and entering houses because I'm scared of what is there. I see youtubers and how careless they are, how they simply run through groups of zombies carelessly, while I'm afraid to approach more than two zombies. Help? ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ myself playing thi sgame

you can get pretty close to zombies thats why u see people just running past them, u can just run out in the open past thousands of zombies if u want, but to lose them u need to hide from their sight or go far enuf away

Did you pick traits that make you scared?

Well, firstly, most YouTubers are doing it for entertainment when playing carelessly. Lastly, being scared is natural. Stupidity and cowardice are needed to build bravery.

It's matter of limitions of oneself. I can handle three to five zombies when unarmed and perfer to go solo.

That does not make sense.
You pick traits when you create your character.

Hopefully you aren't trolling anyway but what I mean is myself, looking at the screen playing Project Zomboid. I'm scared while playing the game.

Exactly. There are traits you can pick on character creation that can make you scared.
Pick agrophobia(?) and you get scared going outside. There is one for being scared when indoors. There is one for being scared when you see any zombies. (opposite of brave)

You can also be scared if you have contracted the zombie virus.

Now I am not sure you understand, or if it's just an English language barrier problem. Since you did not answer, I guess I am done trying to help.

You do realize that he was saying that he, as a player, was scared. It wasn't the character that was panicked or something like that, but the player.

As for your temerity in playing, if you want to take it easy for a bit, so you can get used to the game... play in sandbox mode and turn off zombie disease transmission. <there's actually a lot of changes you can make in sandbox mode to make things easier or harder> This will allow you to live long enough to figure out the game. Most youtubers have been playing this game for a very long time and know just how far they can push it.

I think if you get scared playing a horror-y survival game, it's doing its job pretty well! But after you play some more, I think you'll find you develop a better sense of what you can and can't get away with.

To be fair, it never stops being scary: just cleaning out a house of zombs, begin looting but you didn't notice one of the windows was already broken in due to the blinds on them, so out of nowhere you hear "moan, Rip" and then you exclaim "FUUUU" and start running around like mad:p

This game is a fun but scary survival game where one wrong move will make you have to start all over, this makes your life valuable, and not dying kinda important:p ESPECIALLY if your trying to get your fecking Contruction to 7+ and you keep getting killed at 6...

Have to agree with this. At first, you might be scared, too scared to try much. Then you'll start to get the hang of it, get a little cocky and oops! One get's you when you least expect it or you'll dodge away from one hoard, only to slam into the clutches of another. Zombie chow again.

Once you get so good that it's not scary, probably time to up the difficulty or find something else to do ingame.

Now, if it's just too scary on normal difficulty (let alone some of the hard core options) you can always set the difficulty lower in the sandbox settings and try an easier version with weaker & fewer zombies, no zombie disease transmission, and more loot... among other settings to make it less stressful. It's only a game, a sandbox game at that. Have fun!

Willie, the OP means that they themselves are scared IRL, not their character in game.
