Disable Admin mode in dedicated server?
So my clan and I decided to get a proper 24/7 server instead of someone hosting it all the time (And have everyone waiting for this person to come on). Now what was awesome about this, you can turn on your admin mode to do things, but turn it off immediatelly after the work is done.

Saving the server is something, only an admin can perform outside the regular save-intervals.

The problem is, if you are playing with your admin "account" on the server, you have superpowers immediatelly after joining. Turning them off, you still have an infinite inventory. This cannot be changed whatsoever.

The locally hosted server had a great thing, you could enable and disable the admin mode on the fly, which I can not understand, why the game doesn't have it in dedicated servers.

Is there a workaround for this? Because I'd like to keep the admin powers (like saving the world and ending the server) without switching to the main menu and logging in as a different user.

I always just joined my dedicated server as another player. 2 different usernames one for admin stuff and one for playing

That kinda defeats the purpose of why I made the post. :'D Namely not to do this exact thing, as I have written in my post.

I didn't even know, this was STILL an issue.

So I guess.. hope, someone reads that? I'd honestly like to get back to the game at some point, but singleplayer feels lonely and multiplayer has this issue, if you don't just host locally. (And if everyone's internet is wonky at times)

so no solution yet?

I'd like to know that also. It's one of those reasons I stopped hosting a dedicated server. Because administrating it while also playing made it unnecessarily time consuming.

Well, I kinda solved that problem, not the way I wanted but ok for now. I've set up an rcon(downloaded from here: https://github.com/gorcon/rcon-cli ) and now I can log in with my non-admin character and still use all admin commands from a remote console. No admin panel though. That's the best workaround I found so far

I'm assuming sooner or later the devs will address this. Unless there's a major content update, I can wait with picking the game up again. But I'll keep your solution in mind!

I'm ultimately fine with changing it at some point. It was decided that admins would have separate accounts back in the bad old days when the game was young and they regularly screwed with people. Now that it's more mature, it's just kind of a PITA.

Any news on this?
Would be nice to have this in the game by now, even more so with multiplayer being out.
