Project Zomboid

Project Zomboid

Zombies spawn into my bedroom (?)
I took the small 1 story house near the Auto Shop (West Point) as my safe house. Killed every zombie close to this place and fortified it with wooden planks and curtains. After I went to sleep, I'm suddenly trapped with 3 zombies in the tiny bedroom to the east. They block the door and won't even let me move. Everything was closed and fortified (the doors not locked though) and there was no event. Settings are sandbox easy mode to get into the mechanics.

Is this a glitch? Not sure how to avoid that. I expected to hear them breaking in, so I think they somehow glitched through the wall.

It is a glitch. When you sleep, time moves very fast and causes a few to several zombies to "walk though" walls.
Hm, so where should I sleep?

Are you sleeping on the top floor of a house, or the ground floor.

If the glitch is happening, it may be more difficult for zombies to get onto the second floor bedroom.
@VonRavenstyne: I see, thought as much.

@WillieSea: There was only the ground floor. I'm sleeping on chairs in the living room for now.

More space to dodge them in the worst case.

That's an interesting piece of the puzzle; maybe we'll be able to reproduce it now. Thanks for mentioning it.
You may need a less powerful computer to replicate it.
I never see it on my gaming computer (not a laptop either).

Sleep on the second floor in a decent size bedroom, if able.

If you're going to reproduce this, board-up all the windows. Be sure there's at least a dozen zombies outside. Wait or take sleeping pills until the character is about to pass out.
