Yes!! Ive had the same idea kinda. Remaster Destiny 1 with the improved aspects that destiny 2 added, make whatever retcons or story changes they want, and start anew. I have a feeling that will be a similar conclusion of what "destiny 3" will be, but I doubt they will make story changes because they dont really have to.

D1 was good. Getting new weapons felt cool. There was less of a pool, harder to get purples. The exotics were a kind of playstyle choice rather than "the next best thing". Strikes were actually fun to run because of this retronerf of the player. In D2 you have to destroy universes in order to feel cool. In D1 you were a space ranger along with everyone else and that was all you needed to be.
