For some reason Bungie made the game in a way that makes it hard for new players to play the story like it is supposed to. For example, the intro missions, particularly for new content, will literally teleport you into said mission from the login screen without your input. This is NOT negotiable. Bungie DEMANDS you do these missions NOW. Once teleported into these missions, open up our Ghost menu and return to orbit. You can then restart the mission at a time of your choosing. I have been playing for just over a year now, and started playing around Lightfall. I wanted to do the story in the proper order, but Bungie kept making me do the Lightfall intro mission, which jumped me right to the end(at the time) of the story.
