That pool is for basically noobs only so the SBM is so they don't match with people who are much better than them. If you have wins on your card you won't get into that pool.

it just guarantees that average or newer players will never be able to go flawless without a carry... having the sbmm on from the start in every match would at least give those players a chance instead of getting steam rolled by uber sweat teams every single match,... it should literally be the reverse.... sbmm should be turned off for those who have already been flawless, and then they should also reintroduce flawless pool on sundays

If you're bad at PvP then you shouldn't go flawless. I see people with negative KDs with flawless all the time so there's absolutely opportunity for people who are persistent.

Not to mention that flawless pool literally killed the population everytime since the people who actually play trials would just leave once Sunday came around since the game basically punished them with harder matches because they were remotely successful.

that's completely counter intuitive to bungie's hopes for trials though... they've literally said over and over again that they want more new players and average skill players to engage in trials... yet they make decisions like this which prevent that from happening... people aren't gonna continue to play a game mode that keeps them from ever having a chance at success

If it were counter intuitive to their goals then they wouldn't have added it and then removed it. They want new players to go into trials because they already have the dedicated players. Trying to win over the more casual player at the cost of the more dedicated players is worse for the health of trials and endgame pvp because those are the spaces that are meant for those dedicated players first and formost.

makes it easy for the average/ newer players to get adept weapons (via persistence passage) and its not even really hard to get flawless you need to win 7 out of 9 games...

literally as i quoted above, they added passage of persistence for those who dont have access to going flawless or so they dont stupidly spend money

as someone who's been on a persistence card since friday afternoon and can't get past four wins because i'm matched against people like gernader jake and difizzle, plus countless other teams full of cyborgs with superhuman reflexes and accuracy, while i routinely get placed with randoms on my teams who are just as bad or worse than me... i don't think the system is working.

i've never been able to farm trials on anybody... the point is, that myself, as an average skill level player is constantly getting matched against high skill, high kd players in almost every single game, including the likes of gernader jake, frostbolt and other streamers... people that i'd have zero hope of beating in pvp... its ridiculous... I would understand if it was every once in a while, or better yet, if i had already been flawless, then sure put me in lobbies against other flawless players.... to enable skill based matchmaking only when players have already flawed their cards is just stupid... your comment makes no sense, cause i'm literally complaining about not being able to play against people of a similar skill level...

You can play with people of similar skill though, just not to make progress toward flawless. If you want to just play the mode and get loot, the practice pool with sbmm is literally made for players like you. What you're really complaining about is that you can't get flawless but you have to realize that flawless is suppose to have some prestige around it and its not suppose to be something that everyone can do. You're asking for Bungie to hand it to you despite not actually preforming in PvP.

I'm one of the below average players that the Persistence card has brought to Trials. I averaged out the Elos for my Persistence card and the average elo for 32 matches was 200 above for the enemy team. The only reason I am here is because Bungie locked all the good s**t behind the Trials skill wall. Immortal, Shayura's, Igneous, Cataphract, and Summoner are all Obscenely good weapons that you have to be good at the PvP side of Destiny to get. I will never see the lighthouse, but at least the persistence passage exists so I can get Adepts. The Persistence passage is for the casual, this is the gateway. Trials isnt supposed to be fun for the average player, its supposed to be a slog. But at least now you can get the rewards if you put in the time, (about an hour per saved win for me).

Well I don't know if it's designed to be a slog but it definitely is more fun when you're good enough to win most of your games. Trials back in season 10 is what got me to work on my PvP skill significantly more and I enjoy pvp much more because of that.
