Dungeons have never been included in season passes. Shattered Throne and Pit of Heresy were included in their respective expansions, Prophecy was F2P and Grasp of Avarice was part of the 30th Anniversary Pack; everything since has been part of the dungeon keys.

You don't have to like the monetisation but a price increase for dungeons was absolutely justified when you compare what we get now with the state dungeons originally launched.

° From Grasp of Avarice onwards we've received at least a partial new weapon set rather than dungeons just providing another source for the destination weapons as we saw in Throne/Pit. Prophecy is a bit of a middle ground as whilst the weapons there weren't strictly new they weren't otherwise available and as it was free content it not being entirely new assets is understandable. Like with the weapons from Prophecy onwards we've also received a new armour set.
° From Grasp of Avarice onwards we've had Master difficulty, Artifice armour and an exotic with catalyst in every dungeon and new dungeons have been farmable for legendary gear at launch.
° From Duality onwards each dungeon has included a seal/title.

And we now get all of that twice per expansion which by itself would justify a price increase.
No, it does not justify a price increase, not a single expansion this game has gotten since Forsaken has been worth it full price. It's insulting that Bungie asks for money for content that is almost half of the price of the actual expansion which is already absolutely overpriced. Let alone Bungie removing content people paid for few years ago.

Dungeon keys should ABSOLUTELY be included with the one time purchase of the relevant expansion. They already sell you battle passes, cosmetics and overpriced expansions. Asking us to pay 20 euros per dungeon is scummy, overpriced and not even closely justified. Especially when they take away content that me and lot's of others paid money for.

So what you're saying is that 4 guns, a difficulty level, new text under your nickname, and an extra stat on your armor is worth 20 bucks. Understandable.

No, it's not worth it. It's greedy, it only confuses new players more, and it's simply insolent. The only thing that somehow justifies the extra cost is that they actualy make two new dungeons every year, it could justify for example a price increase for seasons, why didn't they do that? Oh, wait...

It's obvious to everyone that dungeons should be part of the seasons. It even makes a hell of a lot of sense. Season about Calus - dungeon about Calus, season about warmind - dungeon about warmind, season about Ahamkara - guess what the dungeon is about. Add to that armor that visually has nothing to do with dungeons. Why Daito armor in Prophecy, Tex Mechanica armor in Spire, Hakke armor in Duality? Think about Omolon and Veist armor in cash shop and you will understand everything, they just added armor originally made for Eververce into dungeons.. Concepts of Duality armor for example were floating around the internet months before the dungeon was even announced.

The whole thing is just an easy way to grab an extra 20 bucks from the player, nothing more.

Yes, OP could have done better research before purchasing. Yes, this is a scummy pricing model.

Bungie sucks and they are getting worse with their pricing. Shame really OP bought in now when the game is basically coming to a close. I know for sure I wont be playing after final shape is finished. The ending to the light and dark saga is my cannon ending to destiny as a whole.

I'm not saying it's worth it at all, what I am saying is that on the basis of them providing more within dungeons and then doing all of that twice a year rather than once them charging more than they previously did is justified.

thats got to be the most ass backwards ♥♥♥♥ ive ever heard wtf were they thinking?

It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥, but unfortunately it's part of the game. They aren't gonna stop and we can't make them, as much as I wish we could. I'm sorry you're suffering from this game's ♥♥♥♥♥♥ monetization. I find the gameplay worth it, but this game isn't for everyone. I recommend you try and get the most fun you personally can out of your purchases.
JCourtney Apr 13, 2024 @ 1:14pm
Just refund the whole thing. It's all ass.
FinxOmally Apr 13, 2024 @ 1:36pm
This is why people just buy Deluxe packs.
Deluxe Packs include:
- That expansion
- All that years seasonal content and passes.
- That yrs dungeon key (Normally 2 Dungeons)

(Normally available for the currently active Annual Expansion)

But understand the frustration for new players, it's super confusing. Personally normally recommend the most recent Expansion, then upgrade to the Deluxe when you want (before a newer expansion drops)
After that, pick the things you want and wait for sales.

you should check out cdkeys, cheaper than buying directly from bungie, got lightfall deluxe, witch queen, 30th anniversary and silver for 60 dollars
WhiteKitt Apr 14, 2024 @ 1:02pm
at least use sites like kinguin and try to inform yourself about the product before buying it

:D

I think the whole thing needs cleaning up with bungie releasing a 99 Dollars everyhing included thingy so people like op can "premium buy it" and get the stuff

i mean it just makes 0 sense, u buy a dlc pack/ expanision advertises it comes with all this content then you are shocked when people question or are upset they now have to spend more money on the same content they just bought in order to play the content
Oh, it makes sense... For Bungies greedy af Managers and CEO. They only care about money, even if it means their employees have to suffer layoffs. As long as they don't get pay cuts, they will milk and ditch whenever it fits their purpose.
Bicki Apr 14, 2024 @ 7:16pm
Yes because they know you morons will buy it anyway.
