Earn skimmer?

Just got to play the event approx 2 days before I got sick and had to go to the hospital. Im currently there and dont know when im able to go home. I really liked the skimmer but dont want to pay real money for it. Havnt been able to reach the objectives to unlock it.
Should I just give up on the skimmer-dream?

You still got about two weeks if not let someone of your trust play the game untill then.
I've lost 6 seasons since 08/22 untill 10/23. But I've visited Xür every week hoping to see old seasonal armor ornaments. Got 3 sets already.

If you lose this year, it is certainly you can acquired next year doing the quest all over again.

There are three different methods to get the Skimmer - you can get a community high score in the Nightfall, you can earn 1200 medal total medal score or you can acquire focus winners package.

For each week of the event toucan earn one Diamond Medal by watching Twitch streams and these medals are worth 300 points each. If you get all three then you're 75% done before you even touch the game, even if you've already missed the first you can still hit 50% with the remaining medals. You may not be able to get back on before the event ends but you can still prep in case you can.

i normally go against this ( but given the situation ) let a very trusted friend/family member use your account * if help is needed in game, i offer out my help... i just finished mine getting after a week and a bit of not receiving the reward packages *

Please dont collect the medals, if you got less time on your hands. I was able to get the Skimmer in 3 days by simply playing the Event Stuff.

There is a Timer you can find in the middle of the Mission Hub in the Tower, during these 2 or 3 hour long events the class you are using for the Event has to be the serverwide winning Class, and i think you have to get some scores during the event then until you hit the highest Tier. (Tier 1-3 and your Score are shown in that exact Hub too.)

after the Timer runs out, you will get a Chest in your Inventory then, open 3 of these Chests during the event and the Skimmer is yours!

TL,DR: it simply takes 2-3 Sessions, if you follow that Timer in the Tower and play the right Missions then! It is kinda neat, the Skimmer is FIRE!
