Do people still play/enjoy gambit?
Hey all,

It’s Been a long while since I’ve played
I was wondering if people still play the gambit mode? Was looking to get back into it and wanted to know. The game mode looks fun!

Do I also need to latest weapons etc to get into the mode now or?

Thanks in advance guys and gals!

Absolutely. Gambit is my main activity which I play all the time. It doesn’t take long to find matches at all!

You don’t need anything other than know what to do. Gambit is one of those activities where it makes zero difference if you win or lose. Everyone gets rewarded regardless of the result.

This is VERY cool to hear! I’m interested in coming back to try this out!

Never got a chance to when I played a bit a while back but the mode looks insanely fun!

My question is I know there are “roles” to the game mode but how do you know who does what if you solo queue into a game etc?

You don't have a given role, and most people tend to fluxuate between and perform several of the roles. A while back, the enemies in Gambit were much harder and needed coordination, but nowadays the focus is more on going faster than your opponents.
I never play anymore. I enjoy the Crucible.

Gambit has a playerbase but it's not as big as it used to be.

I see a lot of people playing it, and I personally enjoy playing it too. It's a fun mode indeed! A lot more enjoyable to me than anything from Crucible.

Only when I'm forced to but even than I usually abandon any quest that makes me play Gambit or Crucible.

ding ding ding ohhhh ... men i love that guy men . Seeing some npc being hilarious never make me bore and gambit has the least toxic people in the game so yeah . #1 game mode
can't believe ppL play this S and by that i mean: i can see how it is popular xD

it's good for getting stuff but why play it ? it's pvp for cowards; that makes sense *facepalm :D :D :D

it's basically another option for ppL reverse-gaslighting themselves meaning they try to convince themselves that they don't S and that they are not the faulty party

just like with the portal opening for a pathetic kill with the option to say: it was me vs alot when they die

it's such an idiot mode SMH

No. Great mode in theory, but people have not idea how to play it and it ruins everything. I was ~1800 ELO (destinytracker) back in Season 12, but it's just impossible to have fun in Gambit. There is always someone doing bounty (when it was a thing)/quests/challenges/etc and they basically do nothing but die and waste everyone's time.

I haven't played it since then.

love to play more gambit but the gamemode needs some rework, here in asia people don't queue anymore and I hardly get any gambit match unless I join a friend who is in different region..

I hate PVP of any sort in this game, it makes the spammy ability loop of PVE feel nerfed. Gambit, and to a lesser extent any multiplayer content where you have to rely on other people is just awful, but when you have to wrangle 3 randos who just decided to kill mobs and dont engage with mechanics, and you die before you get your primeval set up just feels bad. It feels worse than getting stomped hard in crucible. I cannot wait to finish with the seasonal triumph so i can ignore it until I'm forced to play again.

Why wait? What's the point of seasonal triumphs? It's just a way for Bungie to drive up engagement metrics by convincing people to do crap they don't enjoy for imaginary achievements they just made up. Don't fall for it.
