PVP is so utterly unbalanced
How is is possible that in a match a guy gets 37 kills. And the best best player out of 11 left gets less than 20.

Tell me in any kind of game where that is fun, reasonable, well balanced, fair?

He carries an entire team to a 1 point victory so the basic premise seems to me, lets group 5 average players in with some sweaty saddo who does nothing but sweat all day and have a close match.

A close match is nothing of the sort if basically one guy wins an entire encounter by himself. That is matchmaking so wrong on every single possible level other than they want a close score, not match

All that is, is CBMM at its best, sweats proving they are nothing special just not playing each other anymore and picking up easy Twitch content for 5 viewers.

I have no reason to play PVP I detest it with every bone in my body it sickens me that it is even a part of this great game but Bungo always include it in anything we are supposed to chase so I am trying to achieve a very basic achievement, and yet with zero PVP experience I am put in a match with a sweaty cretin like this? How is that even remotely a reasonable thing to do.

I love the standard generic idea that if someone is good they must be a no life.

Like half the PvE community don’t sit there re running raids and GMs that are the same outcome every time 💀

PVP will always and has always been a mess, that’s why it’s fun. Just don’t play if you’re not enjoying it.

I am ONLY playing it to achieve something, I do not practice, or enjoy ANY aspect of it, Bungo nearly always include an aspect of PVP into anything, be it catalysts or seasonal stuff, so if you want to achieve some of that you are almost made to do it.

I get why CBMM is a thing, but this is crazy, Bungo seem to think that one sweat carrying an entire team is as reasonable as 12 hopeless players playing to together which is what it really ought to be at the lowest level.

I have no intention of gitting gud, I hate PVP, but why is someone who has not played it at all since buying the game in a crucible encounter with someone like that?

it is like buying a racing game and your first race being against an esports driver, or jumping FIFA with pro players and the like, it's just a bit silly

9,999/10 time this is true though so I dont get why this offends you!? Like I dont know anyone who is good and has not played much! Such thing is not possible. Not in a normal world.

@OP:
Welcome to Destiny 2 PvP.
People are so ahead of others, know so many tricks, glitches, exploits, have so much better gear, have better min/maxed gear, it is totally normal to see a 1 to 37 score.
Like the gap between some players is just.......a grand canyon.
rob_every05 May 15, 2023 @ 4:51am
It certainly is.

Yet my point is this, it seems to me that the matchmaking works something like this.

OK we have 10 average players here, some of them have only only done 4 or 5 games, they would be great all playing together.

Hang on though it has taken them 45 seconds to start a match as there are not many people like that around, tell you what we will drop in some better players and one freak who will carry everyone in his team, that will make the match really close won't it?

well yes the match was close, the score was close, but the ability of each person was not, it was massively unbalanced, that for me is utetrly wrong.

All Bungo care about is a perceived close match, no matter how it is achieved

Likely, the folks at Bungie have never played any real-life 'pickup' sports and have no idea how it works in the real world. If some pro athlete tried to walk-on to a pickup game of high schoolers, likely the only way he'd be able to play "competitively" is to be a solo or perhaps only have 1 or 2 others. I'm not talking about a demonstration, but a game where points mattered. Picture Tom Brady and say, two receivers. He'd get no O-line or backs.

get used to it.
every change to crucible in the last 2 months, of which there have been quite alot, have ruined it more and more as each week passes. its only downhill from here.

I would like to see your source on that number.
The problem is that attacks the person, why insult someone for being good? If you only play a little each day but have played for years, you can be very good and have good gear, that's not being a no life. One of my grandsons is pretty good at it and he is more into Warhammer 40K stuff but has played this game since 2018 (we started the same day) and can tell you what gear is good for what most times.

I can understand not wanting to go against someone with a large skill gap, I don't understand putting the person with more skill down though. We used to call it dedication. You learn to get better by going against those who are better than you.

One more point, don't take PvP serious in this game, that leads to frustration.

I was only doing it to get the Guardian games title, and all I really had to do was run around picking up red orbs, it is done and thankfully I dont have to go back again, but i did find that one match very bizarre
Cryptix May 15, 2023 @ 6:04pm
Damn I mean I get it... but at the same time if you build correctly, use the right exotics, learn the movement and ability tech, you could be that guy destroying everyone.

I don't understand how anyone can get utterly demolished unless they are putting literally zero effort in. Even if your team sucks you can still be the best in the game.

1. This is not a PVP game. It never was.
2. Don't take it serious.
3. If you don't like it, don't play it.
4. You really don't need the stuff you have to do PVP for.

Agreed, also some players are just better than others.
Also Supremacy does not have skill based match making so stomps are expected nearly any game.

Seriously, its like a no brainer, thats how every skill in the world works. The more time you put into it the better you get. Nobody is a good Tennis player in his first hour.

Dude please dont assume if you dont know! Nobody here was talking about how frequently someone was playing. We were talking about if someone is good or not and playing video games to be able to compete with nowadays Fortnite kids asks you do nolife cause everyone with a life does not have the time to play video games in the amount a kid has.
rob_every05 May 16, 2023 @ 4:02am
The point is not about a skill level. I am prepared to battle it out with people a similar level to me. I did it in the past and it was fun, I actually can you believe used to play PVP only at one time as matches were fair, no sweat players and you could influence the result, each and every player.

The point really is that playing a match with 12 players when one player is clearly several times better than ANY other player is maybe not the best way to sort out online matchmaking in my mind

You, are not a source known to be reliable, you're an unknown. You as a source is just your opinion.

Yes, you did talk about how frequently someone plays, just what do you think no life means?

Everyone has a different capacity to pick up on new things, some catch on fast while others don't. Some have family or friends that give them pointers.
