Champions
To be honest i find those champions kinda annoying. Forces you to play a certain way, using specific guns. And i doubt anyone in the world likes bullet sponges. I understand that it was simple to do, make something tanky that moves toward you. Same AI programming we've had for the past 30 years, walks up to you, hits you, yay !!
Same thing with that vex with the wings with the weak spot in the back, that can show a weak spot in front after sustained fire, same thing, annoying. Lame and lazy imo.

No, that's just the Unstopables.

Barrier and Overload Champions are both more likely to stand off and shoot. Also, Eliksni Servitors can be champions too (usually Barrier Champions), they tend to not even attack (at least not much), they just protect the mobs near them.

Point is, every season has them, and every season has different Anti-Champion mods. The objective is to create a shifting Meta that requires different weapons and strategies from season to season.

But yes, they're always annoying.

Champions are supposed to be annoying and tanky no matter how outdated it might be, there's also plenty of things in the game that render them completely non-existent anyway to a point that they're hardly a problem at all..

I read the replies and i get your point, in a way i agree too. My issue i guess is that we are Forced to play a certain way the whole season. Its worst if you're trying to do bounties with certain guns and the other 2 in group are doing the same, but no one has the weapon ready to deal with them when they come up. Game should be about freedom not being forced to do it a certain way.

Me personally for Legend or higher difficulties i'd mix in different mobs in there. Like an ogre shooting non stop protected by that vex type making him immune, with some cabal that runs in front laughing and puts up his shield. Only way to get thru would be throwing a nade or something at the one doing the protecting. Or stealth with a hunter to go around , things like that. Make it about skills, or just being clever.

The comment about plenty of things to do to make those champions non-existent means you are doing everything in order to get all your buffs up to take it out, that's not freedom.
Might as well put in a convention of elements like Diablo so that we can only burst damage every 12 seconds while they are at it. When i see people stacking buffs saying omg best build ever, all i see is a convention of element mechanic.

You need all your buffs to freeze them with chill clip or Stasis subclass or electrify them with Voltshot or get radiant?
There are also a plenty of exotic weapons with anti champion built in and a few exotic armor that grants anti champion effects.

i think champions are fine, even on grandmaster NFs or master solo lost sectors they arent hard if you bring the right weapons and perks

Hands down the most useful tool has got to be a fusion rifle with chill clip in the kinetic slot - riptide from the crucible vendor seems to be the choice but there is at least 1 other that will roll with that perk. By itself it will easily stun 2 out of 3 possible champions, does good damage even when you don't need it for the stun, and it doesn't take up your exotic slot. Mine has basically claimed my kinetic slot on a permanent basis and makes all pve content much easier. You just need something for popping barrier shields: use class abilities or start looking for a good auto rifle for season 21.

If you freeze the Barrier champ then it'll counter all three. Just gotta make sure you wipe him quickly.

All Chill Clip fusions (as of S20):
Riptide- Crucible (Easy to farm for, very accessible)
Deliverance- Vow Of The Disciple (Can be crafted)
Aurvandil- Gunsmith (Even more accessible than Riptide, and can get reconstruction)
Burden Of Guilt- Trials (Worst of the bunch for PvE, but it's there)
