Confused if it's a good roll day for Dead Man's Tale Xur?

Someone referred me to light.gg to figure out if it's a good roll day for Xur. I was interesting in getting Dead Man's Tale but it has an F for the roll. So that means I should hold off? I could use my Cipher on Ace Of Spade at the kiosk for now. How do they even know if it's a good roll day or not?

you just kinda figure out what makes a good roll, but the reason nobody will say 'its a god roll' is because everybody has their own god roll alot of the time.

i dont think this one is great tbh, but the hawkmoon looks decent.

What is a god roll? So I should wait? I was going to use my cipher on ace of spades, grab the quest from Xur to get another one.

Depends whether you want dmt for pvp or for pve. It's not meta in pve at all, but sure is fun, and the current subsistence roll is definitely the best for pve, since it pretty much mitigates its cripplingly slow reload and small magazine. For use in pvp, subsistence is useless. Most players look for vorpal to make it an amazing counter for supers. Moving target and snapshot sights both improve duelling performance marginally, while some prefer killing wind or outlaw due to personal preference.

tl;dr only buy it if you want it for pve, otherwise definitely hold off

Not sure where to find it since i'd like to have proof but i think a Bungie dev said that in Lightfall, both Dead Man's Tale and Hawkmoon will be craftable. I'd advise ignoring the Xur rolls until then

I would say that yes, it's a bad week for Dead Man's Tale.

Full Bore
High Caliber Rounds
Vorpal Weapon
Composite Stock

Cool, thanks for you help and finding this thread. I guess I did figure out light.gg. I got ace of spades for now but got that question so I will grab dead man's tale when it is better. I can't believe I didn't know about the 21 activity quest before. I have been farming crucible, Iron Banner and vanguard matches like crazy recently. Does that quest expire though?

Ahh... it might expire at the end of a Season, but I'm not really sure. It's just as likely that it might not.

We are coming up on the end of a Season of course, but do bear in mind the quest is repeatable. It just takes a week after turn-in to reset.

What expires is the importance of the Seasonal vendor (the War Table). Some of it will still be useable and useful next season, but I'd suggest collecting or using any Engrams still held by the vendor (or by any vendor) before the season ends.

Also grab any rank-up bonuses that any vendors have, those do expire.

As for the Season Pass, you should collect everything you can from it, stuff you've taken out of the Season Pass track is yours and remains yours. And you CAN still collect rewards from the S20 season pass next season by going to the Bungie site and logging in there (up to the level of the pass that you earned of course). Eventually however, anything you don't collect will become unavailable.

Bear in mind, the armor sets (and the Universal Ornaments) are for EACH class, so grab them all. Even if all you do is dismantle the armor for shards it's still better than letting it go to waste. Also bear in mind that any armor you pull from the Season Pass has a good chance of being fairly high stat armor, so ... compare it to your existing gear before dismantling it.

Next season will have a different vendor/quest giver and a new set of perks to earn (and new bounties).

Exotic Ciphers are items in your inventory that do not expire. The quest to get them (Xenology, the 21 activity one) does not expire, but you will probably want to complete them each week to continue to get new ones.

Oh, yeah .. sorry, I was thinking about the quest, and wasn't being clear.

Yeah, that's an inventory item, it remains available (unless Bungie decides to devalue it, but that's not something they do often, or without warning).
