Iconoclasm Bug?

In the Iconoclasm Mission (cooperative focus version), a friend of mine and me were getting out of the portal where you have to destroy the statue with the sword and then have to apply the buff shielded from darkness (did that) but we were still burning and died shortly after because of that ???

There's a spot you should be directed to stand on, a glowing crack in the ground. It will give you infinite blocking energy for the relic, until after the attack fades and the relic despawns.
