If you’re still at 16 motes of light do this

Of you’re like me and you did all 9 Overthrow bosses and got all 8 visions of the traveler but you’re still at 16 motes of light, put all your motes into the vault and kill Meatball (the last Blooming boss). You’re gonna get the Mote of Primordial Light instead of the 17th Mote.

Crazy how this quest is still bugged.

It's not bugged anymore, the meatball was just disabled so it didn't drop its mote for a while. You got your last mote when you killed it.

Yeah, I put 16 motes in the vault, then killed the meatball and it dropped Primordial Mote of Light (exotic). Finally got my exotic Khvostov. I killed him a few times with motes in the inventory, but he didn't dropped anything. The issue now is that 16 motes of light are stuck in my inventory without any way to remove them.

It does, I got it done on Tuesday after reset, and a friend got it from the meatball yesterday.

Probably some issue with latency or something. Either that or you're not actually missing the one from the meatball at all. if need be, beat the meatball up a few more times and keep shooting it until it fully implodes into the void since I did see some people saying that they had it drop while doing that. I just know when I had mine drop it I hadn't been pumping the corpse full of bullets as it imploded. Which leads me to think it's just a network latency issue now for some people.

Bungie also recommended going into Orbit before and after killing Meatball if you have 16 motes. Try doing that too

Does Matchmade Overthrow always get the same boss or am I just incredibly unlucky?

I had to check my "Into the dark" quest and I had 5 out of 6. Once i completed the 6th quest and beat the boss, it dropped.

Can confirm. Does not work. Done everything possible. And did not get my final mote of light. So I have given up. Thanks bungo.

I can confirm this DOES NOT work for everyone. Ive done it 6 times now and still has not dropped
