The asset for that weapon has been used and re-used a few times; in the very first season there were like 4 weapons that used the same asset, just reskinned, and with a few different rarities. The legendary versions were Phosphorus MG4 and Stochastic Variable. They were all energy weapons so their icon is aligned facing to the right.
Now they've made a version that goes in the kinetic slot, they must have tried to flip the icon and realised it wouldn't work due to the 'OMOLON' text on it, it'd end up mirroring it. I wonder who'd even notice, due to the location of the expansion icon? Rather than editing it, they probably just kept it facing right because of that.
mm makes sense.
thanks
