Keep getting one shot with 100 Res and 100 Recov with devour.
Mobs teleporting through walls constantly.
Mobs ranged attacks keep going through walls to one shot me.
Very very bad.
Odd, I don't have 100 on either of those, none of that is happening to me, so do I detect some BS?
As I am someone who stopped playing a few months back. Idk know much currently
At the start of March this year, Bungie released the highly anticipated Lightfall, that was met with extremely negative reviews. Before LF, it was marketed extremely well, and got people extremely hyped but when it dropped, things such as the story and implementation of Strand into the campaign were terrible.
The season that dropped with it (Defiance) was long and killed off a character for no real reason, the season after that (Deep) was quite fun but got dry around the halfway mark, next season (Witch) was genuinely a lot of fun with new activities but season burn out persisted, and the current season (Wish) just finished story wise, and with The Final Shape's delay is now 5 months. People are sick of the game, and are also sick of Bungie's way they treat the game.
There is so much drama that happened last year, I genuinely can't list it all but some main things.
.LF was bad
.RoN (Raid) too easy
.Bad Writing
.State of the Game Article basically saying it's our fault the game is stale
.General burnout
.Lay-offs at Bungie, further enraging and disappointing the player base (especially with one of the employees being there since Halo, and writing a ton of D2 music)
^
.45% revenue goal misses, and the imminent threat of getting consumed by Sony
.TFS delays
.PVP being at an all time low
.Lack of content
.Player numbers dropping to all time lows
As for the current state, it isn't great. Don't get me wrong it's still a lot of fun to play, but for the players that have been here for years it is certainly getting boring especially with the lack of content we are getting. It's going to be a long 4 and a half months before TFS, which due to the current state of the game could very well kill Bungie if they don't do it perfectly.
If you spend too much time on gaming social media circles and have poor self-control, it might not be the best idea.
Some of these points are either a stretch or misrepresented.
The "writing" has not dipped in quality at all. In fact, this year has arguable been a LOT better than last, we didn't get a filler pirate season or a 3-month trauma circle.
We have had DLC delays so many times before, namely with WQ. Y'know, the best D2 DLC.
"lack of content" there is more stuff to do in D2 right now than ever before. Seriously. The amount of lost/vaulted content has been greatly surpassed and now each DLC adds piles more to do.
"general burnout" player problem, not a game problem.
The SotG article did NOT say that it was "our fault" that the game is stale. That's a horrible way to explain it. They explained their reasonings for things (no one plays Gambit so gambit gets support cut, namely). Content Creator and game vet Datto had a great point around the time that it came out: "If it was just called 'Destiny 2 update', there would be way less uproar." (or something along those lines). The expectations that the SotG article brought surpassed the actual thing.
Layoffs and revenue projections do not really impact the game. Given that the post-FS D2 plan might have some radical change, I think losing 11% of the staff will be the least noticeable difference.
Anyway, it's kind of tiring to see the fearmongering over the imminent death of Bungo and D2 when the game has been in WAY worse spots. The game has gotten much better over the past year or two. It still gets better. There are ups and downs, but if you back out and don't tunnel vision on drama or specific incidents, the overall trend is upwards.
Just to add a bit more context - they (the executives) set their own projections and they missed by 45% which probably happened because they wanted to get purchased by Sony because they were on the verge of going out of money.
All the while Destiny 2 was a platinum seller for 2023 on steam (read as in the top 12 best earning games on steam) and you can only imagine how much money they earn off the consoles.
