How to resume a mission?

I am in the middle of the Star-crossed exotic mission, but I will never have enough time to finish it in one go. Is there a way to resume from the ladt checkpoint?

Nope. Exotic missions do not have any persistent checkpoints, once you start one you have to finish the entire mission for it to count, leaving the mission in any way will put you right back at the start. The only way around that is to join on someone already doing the mission, which puts you however far into the mission that person is.

Are you doing it solo?
If so, get a team, It won't take long to finish.

It depends on what activity it is. Dungeons, campaign missions, and raids have checkpoints.
