Just play the game, focus on getting seasonal challenges completed. That's going to be the fastest and less mind numbing way of doing it.

Well, if you are working a $14.5/h job and spent all that on silver, it would net you about 15-ish levels an hour if you bought the big pack of silver. But you must consider that you can log onto D2 and do the fastest XP farms (moon dailies, repeatables) at any time, whereas a job might require a commute and have a limited schedule. It is possible, depending on your situation, that silver coins would indeed be slower than just doing moon bounties.
