How to get Essence of Desire faster?

accidentally borked the tomb trying to do the quest and messed up, now it feels like i'm not getting any essences

You get Essence of Desire completing runs of The Nether. You also get 10 by dunking Essentia into the taken totem on Eris' flat.

Not getting any either. Not gotten a single one.

Ritual activities (Vanguard, Crucible, Gambit) can award them. Not many at a time, but slow and steady.
Also, it looks like there's a maximum stack size of 50, so don't go dunking Essentia at Eris' place if you're close to the cap.
